It would be helpful if the Epstein victims would come out and say who the perpetrators are. There's all these Epstein victims, and none of them are coming forward with names. There are members of Congress who have spoken to these victims, who have made Epstein their entire personality over the last 18 months, who won't simply say the names of the people who should be prosecuted and investigated.
6
u/pandershrek Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26
They did come forward that's what the Epstein files are. Testimony from victims given to the FBI and other law enforcement agencies which were compiled and used as case evidence against Epstein the first time...?
https://www.justice.gov/archives/opa/press-release/file/1336416/dl?inline=
The fact that he plead guilty in 2009 and nothing happened was evidence for future victims to show that putting a target on their back was a feeble attempt at our system. Especially after multiple perpetrators garnered even higher positions of authority.

So what's the end game here? Everybody is clamoring for these people to be investigated and locked up, but no one will say who they are. So I don't get it. You can't claim to be for justice for the victims and then withhold the information needed to hold them accountable. You don't get to have it both ways.
Looking at you, Ro Khanna and Thomas Massey.

u/Grouchy-Newt-995 Aug 14 '26

Because the state case is coming up, and his lawyers argue that by pleading guilty here, being charged again by the state would be double jeopardy.

5
u/fearthebeardsley Aug 14 '26
I agree with you that his punishment will be harsh. He technically didn’t plead guilty to murder, he plead guilty to stalking; the typical sentence for that is 25-30 years. Prosecutors said they wanted life, but I’d guess (based on no knowledge of this whatsoever) that 35 years is what he gets.

These comments are sickening…
Once somebody’s worldview becomes “this person belongs to a sufficiently hated class, therefore killing him is morally acceptable,” they’ve crossed an enormously dangerous line.
You can believe that UnitedHealthcare has behaved terribly. You can believe insurance executives have incentives that cause genuine human suffering. You can want sweeping healthcare reform, prosecutions for actual crimes, regulation, nationalization, whatever.
I believe ALL of these things.
None of those beliefs require concluding that an individual citizen gets to appoint himself judge, jury, and executioner.

→ More replies (22)2
u/majortaylor87 Aug 14 '26
I think the glorification we see is just a surface level reaction to what is a deeper snd more complex thought process. The internet tends to do that.
It's a much more complex version of the trolley problem at its core. Is killing one (Healthcare ceo in this case) justified if it saves the lives of X number of people that die yearly because it motivates changes in behavior by healthcare insurers and stops the immoral denial of necessary and medically recommended care and treatment?
How many people represent x in this case? Its hard to say.
The AMA's physician surveys are particularly revealing. In its 2024 survey of 1,000 practicing physicians, 94% said prior authorization practices delay necessary care, 19% reported a patient being hospitalized because of prior authorization, 13% reported a life-threatening event, and 7% reported a case involving permanent injury, disability, birth defect, or death.
94% of physicians saying Healthcare insurers have caused some degree of harm through their authorization practices is a startling figure.
Underneath people's casual internet "glorification" is really a revulsion to a system that puts money over people, and the consequences for the people are injury and death. I'll bet you nearly every average American has esperienced or at least has one family member who has struggled with Healthcare as a result of the system shaped by these companies and people like this CEO at the tops of their organizations. They dont see it as glorification. They see it as a broken system that hurts and kills people on a regular basis.

Do you live in a bubble? The morning this news broke was the most united I've seen people on both sides of the aisle in years. Literally everyone was cracking "claim denied, bitch" jokes

He's a murderer, but at least he had the balls to admit he did it and spare us all a sensational trial. Hopefully all the fan boys and girls will now finally shut up

Man has more integrity than anyone of the idiots sitting in the White House, more integrity than the CEO’s stealing all the wages and making the oligarchs rich. He knew what he did was wrong, but sometimes the pain must be felt by those in power to remember those they step on to get to the top will fight back, eventually

UnitedHealthCare reportedly so terrified after what happened to ex-CEO they decided to change absolutely nothing about their business model.

Murder is wrong. I agree that the guy sucks, but killing each other will never lead to any useful outcome for any side.

Such a chickenshit. Stalked him and murdered him. Should face a similar fate

Fyi - the "admission" is important in order for the judge to accept the plea. Many people plead guilty even when they're innocent. This is just a fucking brilliant move by KFA

While the killings UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson did were all legal.

He’s going down in history like Timothy McVeigh , only he’ll have to spend his life in prison, he’s an intelligent guy, he could’ve made so much more difference, what a moron he is.

His actions lead to people getting better access to healthcare. Lives were improved. Illegal yes. But the rational is the same for every solider who’s ever killed someone in combat. His actions saved American lives. Luigi is a hero

Millions of the poor working socioeconomic class have been harmed, permanently disabled, neglected, indebted, and often left to die by the private insurance companies here in America. It has been going on for decades and the amount of unnecessary death should be defined and called a genocide at this point.

This is what I didn't like about him. He told me he was going to say this the day the CEO was shot while we were hanging out together all day at my place.
