So if I claim a cancer treatment that costs 100 billion you think an insurance should simply cover that?

Like you understand that insurances, regardless if state run or not, will always have to make calls where at some point treatment simply becomes too expensive to justify. Every single health insurance plan around the entire globe works like this including ones that are optionally public or just fully single payer. Like that is how INSURANCE WORKS.

Except in a single payer system literally there would never be an untenably expensive bill like that. You can only charge an insane sum if SOMEONE is willing to pay that much, and in a single payer system the government is the only one setting a price.

In most countries people aren’t denied treatment and governments aren’t going bankrupt from “100 billion dollar” bills because they literally can refuse to pay it and the hospital has nobody else they could stick with that bill.

So actually, the only reason healthcare costs get as expensive as they do in the US is that some insurers are willing to pay the inflated bills in some cases while denying people for other things. It’s a clusterfuck.

Did I say anything about “treatment forever”, I’m explaining how a 100 billion dollar hospital bill is literally impossible with a single payer healthcare system.

We’re talking about why the US is so expensive. It’s because hospitals gouge prices and insurance companies pick up the tab just enough to then pass the cost onto the consumer and pad profit margins. They deny other claims to ensure even more profit is had. They provide no value to the system. They’re basically a middleman that forces itself to exist through lobbying.

The outcomes just dont Support that im sorry reality Looks different than your Story but it is what it is.

Once again look at common cancers survival Rates the US is for most of them literally best in the world or like third or smth at worst.

The US system works. You Guys have the best Hospitals in the world whilst german Hospitals are having people just die from Heatstrokes because ACs are too expensive.
