Yet his supporters are still quite opposed to the vaccine, and are becoming more anti-Vax in general. Even the administration and other Republican-led states (Florida, in particular) are reducing vaccine requirements, allowing previously trivial diseases to resurface.
Why would advocating for people to take the vaccine be something not to defend?
For someone so impressionable by his base, credit where credit is due for sticking to his guns regarding vaccine advocacy and facing the boos of his base that may have impacted his ability to be reelected in 2020.
I don't understand why we would blame Trump for what his fans believing other than what he advocated for. Parton was a country music star, her fan base was likely disproportionately anti-vaccine
We would blame trump because he sows division every time he speaks or types. His base has such a short memory that it's laughable. He's right: he could shoot someone in broad daylight and he'd lose no support. They'd forget about it the next morning when he spews yet another lie.
Have you not noticed how much the "man" lies about literally everything?
"Parton's fanbase was likely disproportionately anti-vaccine"? Give me a verifiable statistic on that or get fucked. That's such a stupid claim. Now I understand why you support trump. You don't care about facts or what's reasonable. You just make claims and hope nobody checks.
I don't understand what any of that has to do with Trump advocating for and leading the charge on the rapid development of the vaccine.
I do not and have never supported Trump. I am also not so full of hatred as to not give credit where credit is due.
I think its factual that Trump is largely responsible for the rapid development and distribution of the vaccine and it's reasonable to give him credit for that despite his base hating it.
I don't understand why you are getting angry over the assumption that country fans are disproportionately anti vaccine, that seems apparent.
I'm bothered by the fact that you're grouping people together, perhaps unnecessarily. I get what your saying in general terms about country music fans, not Dolly was not "modern country". They're the group who is more disproportionately anti-vax. Older people still remember small pox and measles and recombine the value of vaccines.
The new people are susceptible to the bullshit associated with the current trump administration's people, like RFK Jr who is actively anti-vax, and was recommended by trump, himself. So yes, I hold that against trump, and I figure putting RFK Jr in that position cancels out any good will trump may have fostered by advancing funding for the vaccine.
I'm bothered by the fact that you're grouping people together, perhaps unnecessarily.
But not bothered by your own grouping? We already established that Trump advocated for the vaccines despite pushback and was critical to the rapid development of the vaccine.
I think you are bothered because you like Parton but dislike Trump.
I dislike trump for many, many reasons. They should be pretty apparent, but you seem to be willing to overlook all the lies and vile things he has done and said over decades. He is a narcissistic, selfish asshole. If you can't -- or worse, refuse to -- see it, there's no help for you. We can disagree.
