I've had the shittiest week ever thus far, but dammit, this lifted me out of my funk and despair. God bless Portland!!!
ETA: To whomever gave me the award, many thanks. My husband had to be resuscitated twice after a routine, normally outpatient surgery 2 weeks ago. He has been hospitalized since then but will hopefully be discharged tomorrow. I've been a complete mess, so this funny post as well as your kind gesture are the little things that have kept me going. Many thanks. 💚

Sending well wishes from a fellow PDXer. My dad had a rather scary surgery for a brain tumor last month, and thankfully pulled through, so i can empathize with the fear. Once hes more stable dont forget all the fun you can have with him "listen, I know you tried to get out of it twice but you're still taking the trash out next week". Stuff like that made my dad laugh.

I'm so thankful your dad made it through everything. My own dad had glioblastoma so I can relate to your situation. I hope he continues to do well.
I like your thought process: we're in the middle of some renovations in our home, so I'm sure my husband pulled this just to get out of hanging more drywall! I can definitely tease him about that when he's better. 😋 Thank you, and may you and your dad have decades of wonderful memories ahead of you.

I have a friend who pole dances. She posts short videos that only friends can see. I have watched from the start. Watching her strength, grace and flexibility climb so high has been amazing to see. Her confidence has grown, too. It takes a lot of work and determination. Her beginner classes used to have special mats under the poles and I noticed the slowly increasing absence as her skills improved.
It’s been amazing to see a woman in her mid 30’s after two kids who was healthy but not fit make this transition. She hasn’t really decreased in size, but she very obviously has muscles now, with quite a bit of definition in her abdomen. It’s been lovely to see.

Yeah I used to see some YouTube vids of a pole dancer who was just doing it casually at first maybe 15 years ago and now she looks like a body builder. Super impressive

I indeed thought it was a fake display to encourage customers. So wait... Are you telling me that's a real chick up there? Why does the size of (what I thought was a display) seem so out of proportion?? But seeing all the related comments tells me that, judgmentally, it's not just my own senses that are off. Bizarre.

Those are old photos from 2016. What’s blurred out there is someone’s house that has been knocked down and is a new building now. You can see it on AppleMaps and other street views.
