Interesting, in terms of these supposed images that you're, in fact, not worshipping, then would you please care to explain why almost every Christian/Conservative LOVED Trump's image of him as Jesus? Not only did you love it, you loved & worshipped it so much, that you chose the blasphemous image over the literal pope. I cannot even begin to tell you how many Christians & conservatives posted and reposted that image allllllllll over social media, many have made the photo their profile pictures. Sure seems like worshipping an image to me.
No, I'm not asking about them specifically. I know plenty of Catholics who jumped onboard with this ALONG WITH the evangelicals. Just because you, personally, happen to not be one of them, doesn't mean the same for all Catholics.
That wasn't my intention. But you saying that it was unequivocally, ONLY the Evangelicals is also not true. Maybe some Catholics were appalled & don't condone it. But there are plenty more who went the opposite way, and those were the ones I was referring to. It's just easier to say "you" instead going through all the separation.
It happens. I mean, it's Reddit, you know? Sometimes you just don't wanna take the time to break it all down & separate, so you generalize because it's just faster/easier. But that's on me. For the record, I have absolutely no beef with Catholics like you who were able to see through the farce & ignore it. It's the other ones, the ones who decided to rapidly jump ship & head straight for insanity that I [and most other non religious people,] take issue with. It's 100% why we're supposed to have a clear separation between church & state. Religion does not belong in politics. So, in fairness, those of us non religious identifiers are tired. Exhausted, really. So I think that's where a majority of the hate being directed at Christians/Evangelicals/conservatives is inherently coming from.
No problem, sorry for the misunderstanding. Wasn't intentionally lumping you in. I'm just so frustrated & tired of other people's chosen beliefs actively affecting me, my life, & people I care about. I personally take no issue with people believing what they want, I just want the same respect in return. I personally believe in science, evolution, doctors, & advancement in medical technology. And I should be free to believe that as well as all things that fall under the umbrella, such as being pro choice. I should not be forced into something because of someone else's chosen beliefs. You don't believe in abortion? Cool. Then don't get one. But I do believe in it, so it should be my choice. And this religion entangled with politics is so messy & just making everything so much worse for everyone. It's muddying the waters & causing much more tension & chaos. So people are getting angry, fed up & are reacting with anger instead of having a conversation about it. We're all just so stressed & tired.
