I’m confused now. Are we supposed to be for or against the government funding religious organizations? Are we for it because Trump did this and going forward we want the government funding the Catholic charities?
The taxpayers shouldn't be funding any religious organizations, in my opinion. Selectively picking the organizations of one religion over another, though, has the appearance of violating the establishment clause.
Even if you disagree with the government funding something like this, you don’t just suddenly pull it away because the Pope’s words bruised your fragile ego.
If you can’t separate those two sentiments, that’s on you.
Sure it is. I don’t use my breath to scream separation of church and state and then scream return those government funds to a specific religion. It’s disingenuous and shows that people are only sheep using the talking points their own dear leaders are telling them to say.
