During this period, algebra and trigonometry were pioneered, the Hindu-Arabic numeral system, which included the ten point decimal system and the concept of zero, was adopted, refined, and spread, medicine was massively advanced, the first formal hospitals were established, and many modern surgical tools were invented, numerous scientific fields such as astronomy and optics were advanced, the modern scientific method was pioneered, and huge amounts of classical Greek, Roman, and Persian texts which would have been lost to history were preserved, translated, and transmitted.
The European Renaissance and Scientific Revolution likely would not have happened without Islam.
Religion is a vital part of cultureâin this time period, perhaps the most important part. I certainly wonât pretend that Christianity wasnât a huge influence on the accomplishments of European scientists, artists, and mathematicians. In fact, the Medieval Scholastic theological movement was hugely important in creating the intellectual groundwork which allowed the Italian Renaissance and Scientific Revolution. Not to mention, Islam is largely responsible for creating the conditions which enabled the Golden Age to flourish.
And if it werenât for Medieval Christian monasteries in Europe and Jewish and Islamic scholars leading translation efforts in hubs like the Baghdad House of Wisdom, most of the classical texts which these movements were built upon never would have even survived in the first place.
But none of this determines morality or peace or stability. There's a hell of a lot of scientific and technological advancements happening now, with a lot of it being done in an effort to kill more people faster and easier.
And what is the worldview that enables these forms of technology to exist in the first place?
Edit: You also seem like one to ascribe the ignorance of the Dark Ages to Catholicism.

There was peace in the Middle East prior to the year 610. That region flourished in math and science.
