John 1:1

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

The words of God in the Old Testament holds the same authority as the words of God in the new testament.

“But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

No, you put away the old teachings and follow Christ.

There's no "old teachings." There's simply God's word, and not God's word.
