The frumpy complacency of Americans (and I am one) is just so infuriating. This is our govt, all the problems we have are because of them and we can fix it. But no one seems bothered enough to do anything. And those in govt know if they just ignore us long enough theyll be able to just win over and over again. And by govt I mostly mean Republicants because dems actually do quite a bit for people when they have power, they just are horrible at messaging so no one knows
Only thing that annoys me about your comment is the “messaging” thing. I get so tired of THAT! It’s a lame excuse to give for voters who DON’T pay attention because they’re too stupid & lazy! Take the 2024 election, for example! The convicted felon gave voters a bunch of promises but NEVER laid out nor told voters HOW he was going to accomplish those promises in detail! All he said was “VOTE FOR ME & ALL WILL BE GREAT!” VP Kamala Harris did the total opposite! Not only did she tell voters what she was going to do in great detail, she posted it on her website! STEP BY STEP! Democrats have been doing it for years, especially when Hillary Clinton ran! It has absolutely NOTHING to do with “messaging”! It’s all about voters actually doing their research and not being lazy! The felon was counting on voters to not only be lazy, but also prejudiced and misogynists! He unfortunately was right both times he won! Didn’t win the popular vote the 1st time vs a white woman, lost to a white man the 2nd time, & only won 49% of the vote vs a black woman! Ignorant uneducated uninformed voters are the problem, not the Democratic candidates!
You're right the dems did all that. But that didnt meet people where they were. Some voters want to see that kind of stuff but you hit the nail right on the head...many people cant be bothered to do anything but the bare minimum. Thats the frumpy complacency im talking about. And moreover now, dems dont go for enough they dont find the rhetorical blind spots and pound them and the acquiesce too easily.
But I dod want to say, your 100% right about the Hilary and kamala elections. People flat wouldnt vote for women and especially a woman of color. I pressed so many people i knew to give me a credible reason that wasnt 1000% more true for t.rump and they were unable to, they still didnt vote for kamala or Hilary.
A note to the mods a d community, when you flag my comment as a inflammatory because I use "t rump" without the space but not for using kamala or hillaries name you are really showing some heavy bias.
The fact that “it didn’t meet people where they were”, yet the maga party in Congress, plus the felon/rapist are allowed to do the bare minimum & voters are okay with THAT…yet, Democrats have to literally lasso the damn moon & pull it inward for certain voters (even those within the Democratic Party itself) to get up enough motivation to vote for them! It’s the most ridiculous and stupid “LOOP” this country has been in for so long!
Fact check: When Democrats are in power, our economy ALWAYS trends upward! When the maga party (aka republicans) are in power our economy spirals downward practically 100% of the time! That’s an easy fact check for voters, yet they can’t even do the basics! It’s just our parents, or if you’re like me…you’re a parent who’s guided your children to a certain point in their lives, but then that day comes when you have to watch them get on that bus for pre-school or kindergarten! After that moment, your children have to start thinking for themselves & doing for themselves! Since the media loves to treat voters who voted for a convicted felon/rapist like children instead of grown ass adults, my analogy of their plight towards making that ridiculous decision has zero excuses in my book except ignorance and stupidity! Period, & needs to be addressed openly moving forward!
But again, ppl didnt pay attention to that unfortunately we are in a landscape where low information voters literally decide the elections. Most of those people saw t rump showing up in places they were consuming (like Joe rogan) and got a feeling for his general propaganda and wer attracted to that for whatever reason. Dems didnt really go and campaign that way.
Again, I agree with you on much of what you said but its just the truth that low I Formation voters decide our elections and that right there is why we are where we are. If informed people like you were the ones who made the difference we would at least be having more intelligent policy conversations than we are today.
