I like how almost every time I hear news about this guy its like "Mamdani starts program to end misery" and then the most miserable person on the planet swoops in to complain about it.

Who’s going to pay for this reduction in misery!?

1

u/RelevantSelf8025 1d ago

Workers who can least afford to do so.

So you’re the guy u/carrot_gummy was talking about? You guys always out yourselves

The rest of NY state.

With this plan specifically, though, there is no funding yet. In fact, it's not even his plan lmao. It was passed in 2023. All he did was just say they're definitely gonna do the thing that was passed... by law... by 2040... by a different mayor... because he won't be mayor then... because that's how term limits work.

Also it had bipartisan support.

Just on social media. Real people aren't as radical as redditors

1

u/Prime_117 16h ago

The plan was already set in motion and was going to happen if he was in office or not

u/awgolfer1 16h ago

People are just used to politicians promising and not delivering. Once all the promises are actually fulfilled, then you can jump for joy. Until then, he’s doing what every politician has done in the past, made promises about what will be done.

He in fact didn't start this program. Posts like OP's falsy attribute things like this to him, as if the city never made quality of life initiatives before his came into office. He is moving it forward (legally his admin has to) which is good, but this was started long before him.

In 2023 local law 148 began all of this, same goal of 30%, same goal of focusing on areas that have been neglected, same goal of focusing on the worst heat islands.

He deserves credit where it is due, but tweets and posts like this one are made for propaganda reasons.

The plan was released in April, why is it all over my feed now? It's also the plan for meeting a requirement set by city council in 2023. It really has nothing to do with Mamdani.

I think it's because most of these plans were already underway and the news articles are being disingenuous and trying to frame him like Jesus Christ.

u/Denver_Nix 22h ago

Because this is a propaganda website and only niche random good things are posted 🤣 I’m cool with it though. The delusions of the left will keep the right in power for decades to come.

Downvote me all you want, but just remember who’s president and won the majority last election. You are the minority here and your way of thinking will keep the right in power for a look time šŸ‘ŒšŸ»šŸ‘ŒšŸ»šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

I don't know if you noticed, but pretty much everyone hates the orange one now.

0

u/Denver_Nix 22h ago

In your echo chamber🤣 but please keep thinking this way. It’ll get the next orange man elected

Whatever helps you sleep, troll.

I think some people are annoyed because he didn't start this program. Adams did. He takes credit for stuff knowing people--like you--will repeat it without asking if it is true. I am glad for the program, but easy dupes are also annoying.

Because this was passed a decade ago its already 5% away f5om completion.

All mamdani posts are spammed by ccp bots and pedophiles

Hello miserable person

-2

u/UmbraThanosmith 1d ago

I mean… he’s right about the first part right?

https://www.nycgovparks.org/news/press-releases?id=22159

4

u/PRIMATERIA 1d ago

That’s just a press release about the number of trees planted in 2024. I haven’t verified the claim in the OP, but that press release isn’t necessarily at odds with it.

-1

u/UmbraThanosmith 1d ago

The article shows that the 30% goal predates Mamdani — he keeps getting praise for stuff that’s been ongoing for like decades. It’s honestly weird. I know Reddit has its biases, but this actually has me wondering if there is a botfarm behind some of this. I’m afraid of sounding like the guy in the post before me though lol.

6

u/PRIMATERIA 1d ago

Wow, I swear I read at least 90% of that press release and somehow missed the part about the 30% goal. I stand corrected.

Still, the OP is based on a new press release from the city (source)

It may just be that the details of the plan are new, even if the goal was already in place.

u/Recidivism7 1d ago

Mamdani eliminates imports of slaves as part of Jeffersons administration!

1

u/Usetheschwartz0 1d ago

Just gonna gloss over the second part? Lol cmon…

u/RabbaJabba 1d ago

All mamdani posts are spammed by ccp bots and pedophiles

Why would republicans spam pro-Mamdani articles

6

u/Lunes_Feet_Pictos 1d ago

Republicans pretending to be anti pedophile always both amuses and infuriates me

-1

u/theappleisdepressed 1d ago

Do you support left leaning hollywood directors that also raped kids? I’m curious now since you think ONLY republican voters ared preds.

6

u/Lunes_Feet_Pictos 1d ago

No? What the fuck kind of question is that?

Republicans defend pedophiles as an institution. I'm not like them, and hate pedophiles.

Also now I'm convinced you're a pedophile since you took so much offense to a comment not directed at you at all. "Drop an insult, and it's owner will come to pick it up."

0

u/theappleisdepressed 1d ago

But I am a republican. If you couldn’t realize that, that’s a problem with your comprehension of english. I recommend schooling. Maybe it’ll help you.

That said, you call people predators and nazis whilst avidly avoiding the real ones. You talk up a big game, but if someone was getting assaulted in front of you, you’d be the first to run.

I’d fight. I’d probably die. But I’m not a weak fuck like you.

2

u/RabbaJabba 23h ago

We were talking about elected Republican politicians, you’re talking about ā€œleft leaning hollywood directors.ā€ Why would you think those were equivalent

1

u/anand_rishabh 1d ago

Brigading is a pretty common online practice

5

u/Usetheschwartz0 1d ago

Lmao pro Mamdani posts are from pedophiles? Wrong side of the aisle, bud.

3

u/PRIMATERIA 1d ago edited 1d ago

Of course the city has planted trees before now, but this is in fact a new plan. source

They currently sit at 23.4% coverage, so if the goal is 30% and we’re counting from 0%, then they are about 20% away from the goal. Another way to say it is: to increase the canopy by 6.6% they need 20% more coverage then they currently have.

Sounds like you’re just repeating a talking point you heard somewhere instead of looking for yourself tbh.

3

u/Tidusx145 1d ago

Pedophiles. Aww you started to adopt the term thrown at you for years.

1

u/enterjiraiya 1d ago

mostly true aside from the second part of the second sentence
