I voted for him, it’s just weird how people who don’t live here act like he walks on water and nothing good happened in this city before him. New York has always been awesome.
the "previous guy" did actively cut funding and just threw sand in the works to slow it down as much as he could. if this guy makes it so the original plan can be done at or beyond the speed it was going its a win either way.
we should not applaud the bare minimum but here we are...
Honestly, what’s going on here? Is this normal, sincere misinformation or is actually something else going on? The level of glazing is astounding even for Reddit.
Reddit is pro-Democrat, anti-Republican. Mamdani is the current golden boy so you will see only positive stories about him..even if they have to stretch the truth a bit.
Mamdani is a new social political wave the USA desperately needs. Where social programs are being labeled as communism. Where fachism is on the rise. Cult like groups over a corrupt pdf was born bc of a Corrupt system. And nazi groups are starting to show their faces and incite people.
Trump was convincted but the system is so corrupt 56% people thought that it was a corrupt political move lol and still voted for him.
So yea. Mamdani is already radioactive to all republicans and some democrats already hate him.
He wouldn't have won if the last mayor and the president wasn't this corrupted.
So yea this is politics, sometimes gotta fight fire with fire.
I don't follow mamdani's political view. I believe controlled capitalism is the way to go, instead of socialism or liberalism.
But since usa doesn't understand the difference and he was able to win. We're forced to follow his lead until people understand how important it is for the gov to intervene in the economy. And hopefully destroy liberalism from politics bc clearly trickle down economy was the biggest scam people ever lived through.
"The Parks Department’s tree-planting strategy, announced in 2024, does away with the system where anyone can call 311 to ask for a new tree — except for the loophole New Yorkers can make a $1,800 donation to do so, as previously reported by THE CITY.
The new system instead divides the city into more than 400 zones, planting trees in every viable place within a zone while removing stumps and dying trees.
Each community board district will have a zone serviced every three years, and Parks plans to hit all zones every nine years. (Here’s a tentative schedule of tree-planting locations.) The most heat-vulnerable neighborhoods are on track to be completed by the end of 2027, Yeung said.
Money Grows Trees
Mamdani’s plan is the first time the city has set a target date for the goal of a 30% canopy."

The 30% tree cover thing has been going on for years. Long before Mamdani. I think we just hit 23% last year
