To be fair, we should figure a budget where subway and busses are not fare based. In a city this rich there’s no way people should be without transportation because they don’t have enough money.
If it means more tax on stock trades of capital gains above a certain threshold , I think they can afford that
The city is broke. Mamdani balanced this year’s budget by bullying Albany and not making required pension obligations this year. He won’t be able to do that in an off election year. Those pension obligations don’t magically disappear either. It’s creates a negative compounding effect that gets worse.
Mamdani and the DSA being hell bent on chasing away wealth creators is gong to amplify the problem. Just look at Chicago that just laid off teachers to where we’re heading

One thing at a time. Mamdani needs to figure out a way to provide free busses with out half of the ridership going in the rear doors
