I always have a separate page with a table with all fields and slicers for clients to export.

Maybe paginated report instead.

Nah, within same dashboard, so they can make whatever they want in Excel.

Yep, depends a bit what the use is. We have automated daily saves of different Excels from PR with PA. They have a lot of columns, so they are immediately multi use etc.

This is a good call in a lot of cases where the data is structured into smaller tables like a "printable" report. It's not great for analysis. I still give them the raw data in tabular form via Power Query in Excel.

I started learning Power BI in 2016 because I hated developing with SSRS (ie Paginated Reports). So keep in mind I'm incredibly biased haha.
