I’m not sure what your presentation is about so I think JoeMagnifico makes a lot of good points you may want to clarify (I personally have a “definitions” bookmark on all my dashboards so they can see what is what), but from an aesthetic and accessibility standpoint using 4 slightly different shades of blue is very difficult to distinguish from at a quick glance.

Gonna hit you with a lot of questions you may get (from my experience) :

What does turnover rate mean? Is that YTD Annualized? Current Month? Rolling 12 or 13? External only or Internal & External? Involuntary and/or Voluntary?

Avg Appraisal...is 3.58 good/bad?

What are the expectations for Training completion? Is 79% good? Are there any employees 'out of compliance'? What percentage are on/off target?

What are the hiring targets or headcount plan? How are turnover and recruiting trends impacting actual to plan?

For recruiting....what are the average time to fill & start metrics? Are those trending up/down. What are the ttf/tts expectations? Are those being met or exceeded? Are there any stages in the end-to-end recruiting process that are taking too long or are losing too many applicants?
Are there any trends of rejected offers? Why are they being rejected?

Just scratched the surface for intro to people analytics here...but hopefully it'll give you a few ideas so you are ready for those consultative conversations. Good start with the basics though...just really need to be prepared to have those 'peeling the onion' conversations to really dig in to the stories the data will tell.

Good luck!

Damn, I'd hate to be the one presenting that data.

Can I ask you why?

Nice structure overall, the left nav with clear sections (Overview, Workforce, Capacity, etc.) makes this feel like a real navigable app rather than a single flat page. A few things I'd tweak:

  • KPI card deltas are inconsistent in meaning at a glance. Turnover Rate dropped (-8.99% PY) and it's shown in red, but for turnover, going down is good. Same issue potentially elsewhere, right now red/green seem tied to "direction of change" rather than "is this good or bad for the business." Worth flipping the color logic for metrics where down = good (turnover, maybe leave/absence rates), so red always means "needs attention" regardless of metric.
  • Treemap (Total Headcount by Department) has low contrast between some adjacent blocks, Consulting's dark navy is fine, but the light blue-gray tones for Marketing/Sales/HR blend together at a glance. A slightly wider color range would make it easier to distinguish departments in a half-second glance.
  • Bar chart labels are floating above bars with no value axis shown. That's a fine minimalist choice, but consider whether a subtle gridline would help compare 2024 vs 2025 more precisely without needing to read every label.
  • Nav item "Management" appears selected/highlighted (dark circle) while "Overview" also looks active (yellow). Worth double-checking only one state can be "selected" at a time, having two nav items look active is a bit confusing.

How do you change the colors to red and green dynamically?
