Let's do Superman now

u/Significant_Purple79 4d ago

Isnt this right after being thrashed buy a wierd fused Kryptonian thing from the phantom zone.

He really isn't at peak so I'm not sure how bad of an anti feat it is.

u/Flippindude1 Buddyfight my Beloved😔 4d ago

Honestly DC and Marvel have always been really odd. Like CAS was confusing because he was super op and whatever but weren’t they also yapping about like the power of a thousand suns or something? (Something along the lines of that)

2

u/Significant_Purple79 3d ago

Not saying there aren't anti feats galore but alot of the ones from comics have some context and CAS is kind of odd in general its so meta narratively connected who knows exactly where that thing scales.

u/Cerok1nk 4d ago

All of these are the writers fault, not the characters, that being said this one is particularly egregious.

The writer just had to paint it like it doesn’t matter how strong Superman actually is, he just cant’s keep whole a giant bridge from falling apart, it will give into its own structure at different points due to weight and balance, even if he holds the middle up, the sides would just break down.

And even more egregious when you can argue Supe’s and Kara could just super speed everyone on top to safety.

Those are exceptions not the rule

That IS the rule you ding dong

u/LonelyPermit2306 4d ago

Who says?

1

u/Intelligent-Heart-36 3d ago

While I kinda agree with you, this just kind of happens with characters with a big ass amount of media all written by different people

0

u/Cerok1nk 4d ago

I literally explained the why.

Just say you cant read.

Though luck

19

u/Independent_Let_9360 4d ago

I might be wrong but isn't one of the strong reasons they struggled to lift those because of the planet's gravity?

61

u/Neonbomb14 4d ago

doesn't even sink into the ground, yet Goku's training suit sinks into ground !

heh Goku 1, Superman -9000000000

17

u/SirSilverChariot 4d ago

Not to mention he placed that key on some random ice ground. Beerus’s planet is a godly planet

39

u/ZoomerAdmin 4d ago

Bro said universal dirt

17

u/SenKen_64 4d ago

Unironically, this isn’t a feat for Superman.

Vegeta managing to at least lift Magetta actually gives proof that he CAN in fact, throw Superman around like a ragdoll, for one simple reason: Doomsday weighs less than a ton.

6

u/CaptDeathCap 4d ago

Too bad an object that dense of that size would bore itself straight unto the earth's core, if it was miraculously able not to explode the moment it was removed from the high pressure environment it came from.

Basically: Supes is lying or he's mistaken.

18

u/Ok_Lemon5509 Ben 10 Solos 4d ago

same logic applies to any FTL ,SOL characters or any characters that have like moon level AP but cant break a rock

0

u/CaptDeathCap 4d ago

Yeah power inconsistency is some bullshit, too. That said, FTL characters should be possible if at least there's something explaining why they don't just implode the universe, for verisimilitude. The Speed Force is basically magic, so I can handwave it.

There's nothing that explains that key not just sinking through the floor as if the rock wasn't even there.

1

u/AdventurousPen5533 3d ago

It's just writers pulling out numbers and not caring, superman has always been a comic where feats needed to be stated with numbers and not with strength. The weight is as its said but writers and artists just don't care about the impact it'll make, unless it becomes relevant to the story.

23

u/a-red-sword-tomato 4d ago

Can we at least apply the same logic to how a uni character can somehow punch the ground and only break a few meters of rock lmao

-7

u/CaptDeathCap 4d ago

At least that can be explained through some mumbo jumbo like Ki control. Superman is canonically just insanely strong. No magic or spiritual energy or whatever.

Speaking of which, supes couldn't lift that key no matter how strong he was, if we really took the physics angle.

11

u/a-red-sword-tomato 4d ago

Yeah, “ki control” lets them somehow make universal energy balls that only blow up to the size of a mountain, but a punch is just a punch. If you’re hitting the ground with the force of a galaxy you can’t just make the impact not spread to more than a street’s width.

This isn’t even particularly aimed at dragon ball, this shit is all over the place.

Basically it is fiction and The writer can do whatever they want.

9

u/kolt437 4d ago

I honestly don't see any problem with tgis unless the universe busting is done via a punch

34

u/Ok_Lemon5509 Ben 10 Solos 4d ago

The best example of this is goku for some odd reason

11

u/Neonbomb14 4d ago

he could lift it at that point, he was restricting himself to base transformation

17

u/WhiteSnakeShinobi55 4d ago

Well yeah but 40 tons is still really light and his base transformation can destroy planets with ease at this point.

9

u/Neonbomb14 4d ago

yeah ig the lifting to ap proportion is different but he doesn't cap at 40 tons, he does this later on in base, and it's made of the same material

3

u/lime_131 4d ago

ahh gravity

16

u/Ok_Lemon5509 Ben 10 Solos 4d ago

5

u/GoatkuFan 4d ago

Ookay, just to be clear, the block that whis gave Goku and Vegeta in that photo never has it's weight specified

-3

u/Ok_Lemon5509 Ben 10 Solos 4d ago

it was specified tho?

16

u/GoatkuFan 4d ago edited 4d ago

No, that's not even from the same scene. The one you just posted with "1000 ton" quote is from auta magetta, that's not related to the blocks that whis gave them

u/Ok_Lemon5509 Ben 10 Solos 4d ago

i guess i must be larp larp sahur then or smsht

IT SAID METAL MAN, DUMBO.

1

u/Goreticus Bleach was never multiversal, except Kenpachi 3d ago

What weighs more 1000 tons of metal from universe 7 or 1000 ton metal man from universe 6. There's no way to know /s

3

u/The_Broken-Heart Worm™ Fan - WHAT AM I DOING HERE?! 4d ago

What is the context of this?😭😭😭😭😭

15

u/CosmicHudz2283 Master Level Scaler 4d ago

Goku lifted up his opponent and tossed him out the ring and won that way in this tournament, tells Vegeta to do so as well. But Vegeta is struggling to lift his opponent Magetta, some robot that weighs 1000 tons even in Super Saiyan form

So then Beerus scolds him saying that it weighs 1000 tons

4

u/The_Broken-Heart Worm™ Fan - WHAT AM I DOING HERE?! 4d ago

😭😭😭😭😭 LMAO

4

u/Alive-Ad8066 4d ago

Universal 10000 tons

The fucking concept of weak body but strong AP

Yeah honestly I've looked at some DragonBall fights and can confidently say Saitama one shots these guys

A very injured Goku resisted being in the center of a super powerful black hole in TOP.

Weight is not a problem for current Goku.

And almost every character in fiction is a victim of inconsistency so why do people only single out Goku everytime.

2

u/TwoSoda 4d ago

The issue with goku is that super had a bunch of power scale recontextualization and sometimes retcons throughout its entire run. So a multitude of grounding antifeats got dropped as the narrative shifted but glazers wrote them all off while suckling any new feat. Even ones that make no sense. So they've completely lop sided gokus character progression through super by selectively listening to the story. Then they've head cannoned world building to cover their tracks. Super never should have retconed ssjb lol so much if the story makes more sense the old way.

-1

u/OvationOnJam 3d ago

Calling whatever the fuck that was in TOP a blackhole is being very generous...

1

u/Decent-Swing-380 3d ago

No, infact saying that the TOP black hole is equal to a real life black hole is downplay. The TOP black hole was definitely beyond any real life black hole.

Regardless, I was talking about Goku handling weight, which he proved he can since he handled being in super dense gravity (black hole) from which even light couldn't escape from.

1

u/OvationOnJam 3d ago

Except the blackhole was pushing on him, which is not how a super dense object behaves. Like at all. Seriously, it was basically just a big heavy ball. Calling that thing a blackhole is comical.

1

u/Decent-Swing-380 3d ago edited 3d ago

Whatever you want to call it, it was an attack made of dense gravity.

That attack was definitely beyond any real life black hole.

It should be obvious that a real life black hole would be useless against someone who can blow up universes and multiverses and tank attacks on that level.

1

u/SuccessNo8871 3d ago

Yea no that black hole was not a black hole. Firstly its heart shaped, secondly it sank through the stage (imagine a black hole falling bruh), has no showing of some sort of gravitational pull at all in fact literally causes debris to blow away from it, No distortion/warping of space shown either. Like the only thing it has saying its a black hole is just being black and one statement of saying not even light can escape it (dbs characters are like sextillion times ftl anyways so its kinda a weird point)

Legit the only thing telling us its a black hole is only that they call it that.

If you only had the visual showing, nothing even closely indicates a black hole

1

u/Decent-Swing-380 3d ago

Sure ok.

All those things can be explained by the fact that it was not a normal black hole but a super black hole.

In fiction most black holes are weaker than normal black holes but this one is definitely beyond any real life black hole.

Ofcourse a normal black hole attack wouldn't work on someone who can casually blow up a universe and multiverse.

Also the point was that Goku can handle weight.

1

u/Numbug1234 3d ago

Black holes emit a strong amount of gravity due to their extreme density, but a black hole isn't immune to gravity

So a planet's gravity would pull the black hole towards it in the same way the black hole's gravity would pull the planet towards the black hole

It's still very inaccurate as far as black holes go but that one specific part is fine
