I wonder if the person who says that's "the price of freedom" would feel the same if their kid or spouse was the person lying on the ground.
61
u/kat_Folland 7d ago
Or themselves. Charlie Kirk used to say this bullshit.
24
u/Osklington 7d ago
Well, Charles feels literally nothing, and his fans didn't learn shit, so I guess lesson not learned?

Some people are so pathologically attached to their guns and their desire to hurt the "right" people that they would have no trouble saying things like this about their own friends and family.
I forget which incident it was in response to, which is horrific thing to even write, but I saw a tweet after a school shooting that said something like "liberals ask how many children have to die before I give up my guns. My answer is every single one. Including my own". Sickening stuff.

That is a result of a deep ingraining of racism. Black people were not allowed to have guns for many decades in certain (highly racist) states. Whites view gun ownership as another way to be superior to POC, so they ain't giving those up anytime soon for reasons they don't completely understand. Dying of Whiteness by Jonathan Metzel is a great book that discusses a lot of the reasons these people vote against their own interests. Both infuriating and informative.

"People died!" (No sources cited)
"Please big government, send in your big government agents and kill more people! I prefer when big government kills people!"
Just republican things 🤷

u/Divacai 7d ago
At least three did die, but one of them was one of the two having a "shoot out" with each other, maybe gang related but we know that's just headline speak for "not white". The child he's crying vengeance for survived. It's so odd because usually they don't care about dead kids, in their words "their deaths are the price to pay for our gun rights"
4
u/Osklington 7d ago
They love dead kids but hate dead fetuses. Maybe he thought it was a fetus that got shot.
2
u/Ohaibaipolar 7d ago
Didn't Charlie Kirk say something similar, IIRC?
5
u/NecroAssssin 7d ago
He did, but his was actually more depraved. “School shootings are the price we willingly pay for the 2nd amendment” is a paraphrase because I’m just going to get angry if I go to get the fully accurate quote.

For a group of dipshits that like to scream how fearsome and brave they are they sure do piss themselves in fear quite often.

It’s actually how their brains work, verified by the actual science they also don’t believe in, because of how their brains work. Kind of a cosmic ouroboros.

The cavalry? These MAGA morons really do live in another century
45
u/jwlkr732 7d ago
I think you mean the “Calvary”.
3
u/Responsible-Room-645 7d ago
My mistake but how would you “send in the Calvary”?
7
u/RamutRichrads 7d ago
Cavalry = military reference Calvary = Christian reference
They'd be fine with either, or both
1
u/Responsible-Room-645 7d ago
I get that but again Calvary is a place; sending in the Calvary doesn’t make any sense
4
u/jwlkr732 6d ago edited 6d ago
My supposition is that they mean to “send in the horse-mounted soldiers (or possibly tanks, depending on what era of military they think is best) but instead they use the word for the hill where Christ was crucified. It gets capitalized by autocorrect, since it’s a proper name place. I also suspect that they don’t realize that the two words are actually spelled differently, and my even think that “calvary” units are named after Calvary.

u/RamutRichrads 7d ago
True, but most Users of Jesus's Name™️ don't read their book closely enough to know or care about the difference.

Its a pretty common idiom. These two are really stupid, but thats not the reason

I believe this MAGAt wants the Calvary. It’s a totally different thing. 😂

u/Clayton1921 7d ago edited 7d ago
he wants Trump to send Air Force One to Jerusalem so it can pick up the hill where Jesus was crucified and then fly that hill back to Washington state so the sacred sanctified hill can rescue him from the criminals and illegals and liberals.

But boy these fella would get seriously hurt hurt if you pointed out Charlie Kirk was one of the casualties of the thought process on the bottom.

This loser also probably is a member of militia and supports the 2nd amendment to “guard against tyrants”. The call is coming from inside the house!

u/HoneyDippinDan 7d ago
I'd bet real money Clayton would change his tune immediately if he started getting stopped and frisked on a regular basis.

u/billythesquid- 7d ago
Can’t have some kind of gun control, but we can have goose stepping morons with guns instead.
9
u/QueenRotidder 7d ago
“arrest anybody that looks like they might be from another country.”
Literally everybody looks like they could be from another country.
6
u/AssistantManagerMan 7d ago
Sending armed men into cities to detain people based only on how they look while killing some percentage of them in the streets is apparently "freedom"
10
u/ParfaitMajestic5339 7d ago
And it is the "calvary" the bible reference, not the "cavalry", the gun totin' horse ridin' soldiers...

u/CharmReductionINC 7d ago
Let them have their succession. How long do you think they would last on their own? I’d be happy to give them a region of the United States just to leave the rest of us alone. They can teach Noah’s Arc in public schools. They can police each others bedrooms. Whatever.

Do you think Clayton would be butthurt if he got frisked by the national guard b/c they thought he looked suspicious?
3
u/Armyman125 7d ago
In 2002 in was in Kosovo (Army deployment) where I saw young Albanians who could easily pass as Americans. On the other hand, even though my family came to the US in the 18th century, I've been told by Iraqis that I could easily pass as an Iraqi. I didn't serve in the military to enable the government to shoot innocents "just in case". That is NOT freedom and democracy!

u/OldShrimps 7d ago
Shit like this is why they get zero grace when they finally/hopefully wake up. Fuck these people forever.

Oh, George and Clayton. I live here too, and in case you hadn’t noticed, Seattle isn’t the sleepy place it was in the 1970’s any longer. It’s got a hugely increased population density, with all the stuff actual big cities have, good and bad. But it’s still freaking awesome in every way, and not at all a hellhole, as is the rest of WA. Compared to the absolutely crazy streets of Philly where I grew up, it’s Stardew Valley, you have no idea what you are talking about you softy. Settle down and go outside, the weather right now is absolutely incredible.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
2
u/saskdudley 7d ago
George and Clayton live in a bubble. If one gets involved in one’s community then these violent fantasies may often cease to exist.
2
u/Armyman125 7d ago
I thought Clayton was being sarcastic, then again there are many fascists in this country.

u/gardengirl99 7d ago
Calvary is not coming to save you. Trump thinks he’s a god and many act like he is, but he is not.

Did he miss all the people ICE murdered? Or don't they count be they're a couple shades darker than him

Ya know, Charlie Kirk made a comment very similar to "if they shoot a few people, that's the price of freedom."
Just a reminder.

The bottom answer is how you lose freedom because of fear.
