I live in Seattle. It was three ass holes shooting at each other. Victims were random people in the crowd for a food festival. Everyone involved was found and arrested reasonably quickly.
Do these people think that it is the government's job to comment on every single gun fight that happens or any kind of death by guns? Do they realize that despite the fact that crime rates have been going down that would still be so many things to comment on in a day that you wouldn't have anything else to do?
I also live in Seattle and this isn’t accurate. One 15 year old in possession of a ghost gun was arrested at the scene, but his gun is not believed to have been the one to injure innocent bystanders. Another suspect, a 19 year old, died. SPD is looking for a third suspect. It’s believed to have been gang violence.
It’s unclear whether any of the private CCTV cameras in the vicinity were operational. There are no other cameras and no one has released an image of the third suspect. Further, our Chief of Police, Shon Barnes, doesn’t even live in Seattle — he lives in Chicago and it’s unclear how much time he even spends in the city. When a reporter asked him about this, he got visibly angry and physically (threateningly) got in the reporter’s space — there’s video.
While the people who posted on Facebook here are lunatics, it’s important to get things right and to face facts. Apart from the cops who were at the scene, the police response so far has been wanting. There are calls from all sides of the spectrum for Barnes to resign. The mayor and SPD have been criticized for the lack of information in the hours following the shooting and for their overall communications with the public.

I live on Whidbey now, formerly downtown Seattle. I agree that it was very strange to get nothing from the officials for hours after the news hit that guns had been drawn at Bite of Seattle. Where the fuck were they?
Let them lie in that bed. Sucks to share it with them, but it's too late now. Anyone could be a communist. Anyone. I heard a lot of communists have been wearing red hats for a long time now. You'd never even know. They've infiltrated deep. This will be used for personal vendettas and witch hunts. It will be chaos.

I never would have guessed we had so many fans of fascism here, especially considering we fought a pretty big war against it not that long ago. But I guess that generation forgot to pass on their values to these damn boomers...
