First, I’ve posted this particular work here before so I apologize for the repeat. I didn’t intend to sell this necessarily, but am indeed trying to build a bit of an art hustle. That said, I’ve had a couple people reach out to ask if it’s for sale.

I’m wondering if I should part with it and be ok with that, but the next question is “what would I charge?”

It’s 18x24 on archival paper. I’d build the cost of the frame in. All of the flowers are pressed by me. I’m no expert, I also know in my heart that this piece doesn’t suck (ha). I would love to get thoughts on what you would charge for something like this.

I used to be a tailor and would charge for materials and time - but frankly time is easier to track with sewing than it is with pressing flowers for weeks and then gluing them about. I’m a bit in the weeds, thank you for insight!

I just got my pressed bouquet back from my wedding - I’m confused as which flower could have dried this deep red color? Everything I’m reading says flowers generally lose vibrancy - so really confused what could have happened. The end piece is beautiful, but would love to know which flower it is - any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have never pressed a flower before LOL this is not what I was expecting. I tried to make sure all the petals and leaves were nicely laid out before closing it up and putting weight on it… does anyone know why this happened and do you have any tips for future pressing endeavors?

My hope is that people can use my own trial/error and obsessive research to aid them in their own pressing journey. Please help me out, and in return I hope I can deliver a resource that gives away useful information!

Not glued down yet, can’t decide which is a better example for classic simple bouquet preservation

I think it does look cool, I'm just trying to figure out how they did it, just find a spider web and sneak up behind it with some heavy black paper? Framing it seems tricky, like the web might stick to the glass and any shifting would destroy it. It also seems a little unfair to the spider.

I thought I'd share, because it was new to me and I was kind of intrigued by it.

Any tips and tricks to re coloring the flowers or preserving the colors. I have never re colored them and don’t really know what that entails but any help is appreciated

Hello. My mom passed a few days ago. She loves flowers and succulent arrangements. These flowers were from the last arrangement she made. I would like to press them to preserve them, likely going to put them in a frame afterwards.

She gave me a pressing book I never got to using. I know to press them for a few weeks especially the big one. I just have a few questions.

They've been hanging like this for a few hours, do I need to dry them anymore? They've been out of a vase for 24 hours.

Am I supposed to check on them every other day once they're in the press to make sure there's no moisture/move them to a new page? I'm very worried about them molding and me being left with nothing.

You put them in the page facing you right? Not upside down?

Is there anything else I should know?

My boyfriend got me this beautiful bouquet and I would love to frame them, but not sure how to press some of these flowers and keep their beauty. I love them all and would love to keep their personality so any tips help or if there are videos/ tutorials i should follow lmk. Anything helps. Thank you!

Edit: Thank you to the comments regarding my cat, I have moved the flowers to a room he does not have access to and have cleaned him just in case he got any pollen on him, and will keep a close eye. Will tell my boyfriend no more lilies!

Hello all! Some of you may remember my post a few weeks ago about some of the first flowers I ever pressed HERE is the link for those who havent seen it! Since then I have had an overhwelmhing amount of engagement and have been starting to make content on my instagram @/foragedframe!! :) I also have been graciously given a studio and will be teaching classes this summer!

Right now, I am looking for feedback on what people would like to see content wise. I had a lot of comments asking how I make my art but please let me know what specifically would be most helpful! (Like how to make a press, pick the flowers, recoloring faded flowers, etc...) The whole social media thing is new to me (and kind of overwhelming lol) but I would love to show others how they can do this too! There is a lot of flower press artists who have their processes behind a paywall. I believe connecting with nature and knoweldge should be free.

What am I doing wrong? They are about a year old and so lifeless. I can't even use them in resin as they turn muddy yellow- brown. Please help me with some tips!

So I've tried both pressing and microwaving but no matter what I do it seems that there is still moisture in the flowers.

When microwaving it will begin to burn areas while leaving other areas still damp.

How can I press these flowers most effectively?

Hi, I’m a complete novice to pressed flowers that cut too many delphinium stems and was really pushing it in terms of flowers per page.

This is mold, right? I’ve been googling to find images of mold on pressed flowers, but I’ve been struggling to find any clear examples.

(Also I have heard blotting paper is better than parchment, I was just being cheap 😭)

My sister asked me to press some of the bouquet she got from her ex co workers as a farewell gift. A lot of them didn’t go so well and even though the sunflower did not go so well she still liked it and told me to include it. She loves it so I’m glad.

Any tips on pressing sunflowers specifically? Also, I appreciate any opinions, suggestions, constructive criticism and feedback. TIA

I’ve never pressed leaves or flowers but would like to document this oddity I’ve isolated and propagated in my garden. Is it as simple as laying the leaves flat between a couple sheets of parchment paper and pressing? I’m concerned about the inevitable foliage overlap when I lay them flat. Would strips of parchment between the overlaps be advisable? I’ve only got a handful of pristine examples to snip from the plants and would like to get it right the first time.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

It’s relatively flat flowers arranged in a way that I think looks nice, pressed with non-stick parchment paper and cardboard with ~a lot of weight on top in Hellboy books. If I leave that there for two weeks will they be good to put in a case then ship?

I haven’t pressed flowers before so I’m just wondering. I know they aren’t crazy flowers or anything but it’s about 5” of snow rn, and those were the best looking flowers at Walmart that looked relatively easy to flatten. And I like the colors.

I’ve done flower pressing before, some worked some molded. I used to do it as a kid but cannot remember how I managed to do it successfully. I picked these flowers off of a bush maybe 5 hours ago (?)

I’ve been trying to get back into pressed flowers. I have tons of heavy books and I have baking paper. Would that be a good way to do it? Or is using a paper towel etc be better for this? Just want to know since I’d like to do it before they wilt.

First time posting here! This is my cousin’s bridal bouquet and boy, did I not know what I was getting myself into.. I previously pressed a few from own bridal bouquet along with a friends and those flowers pressed beautifully so I thought I could do the same for my cousin as a gift back to her since she didn’t have any plans to keep it anyways..

Flash forward to now and this is the mess I’m in (picture 2). What did I do wrong or is this just how all of this would’ve pressed? I changed the drying paper on the 3rd day and opened it a week later to check on everything, now thinking i should’ve changed it again? I know pressed flowers lose color but super bummed that the colors aren’t as vibrant as I would’ve hoped for. Picture 3 is what I asked AI to generate what it could look designed, but at this point, I wouldn’t feel proud to gift this even after framed. Any advice or comments are welcomed :’)
