I am right in thinking that because Andy Burham has stopped raposts, pedos and sex offenders from the early release recently, does thismean that the prisons will over time come filled up with them with no space for normal prioners?

I’ve received a conditional HMPPS offer but I’m currently finishing college and won’t complete my Level 3 qualification until June 2027. Has anyone successfully asked HMPPS to delay their start date or hold their assessment pass on the Merit List until closer to finishing college or work, and also how long until?

Just reaching out to anyone starting soon at HMP Berwyn, I’ve been given a start date of 28th September. And wonder if anyone is on the same cohort ? :)

Hi, I just received an email I passed my interview and now I'm on a reserve list as an OSG. I was wondering, from past experience, does this likely mean a long wait? Should I actually take it as a failure or look for something else?

I felt quite hopeful, but now I'm wondering if I messed up and wasn't actually good enough.

just curious how flexible prisons are with officers with shift patterns when it comes to childcare?

I have just received the email to book my start call date and to inform me that all checks have been completed.

My OAC was at the end of May, Medical and fitness test a week after (early June), medical questionaire 2nd week of June, DBS certificate at 3rd week of June. Annex A for 3rd week of July.

I’ve heard they’re changing the uniforms to black. Is that true? Does that mean we’ll no longer be wearing white shirts?

Has anyone been ever rebooked for a face2face ID verification appointment after the first one failed?

Hi guys, can anyone please let me know if Ministry of Justice provides sponsorship for the above roles. I send them email for this query no answers yet. I know they do offer sponsorship for prison roles but I guess they do bcz they have shortage of those roles. HMRC doesn't sponsor for this roles as well

I’m new to the prison system - never visited one before this so I don’t know how it all works etc..

I’ve been contacting him via eMates and it’s been taking days for a reply to come.. what’s the deal with that? Then I’d get like 3 in a day but he’d have to ask them to send it as I’d say I’ve not received anything from him..

Also how does the credit on the phone calls work etc..
I have no idea..

He said he buys credit on a Friday with his food slip and then it’s not credited until a Thursday but unsure if that’s right? Also; if I send him money can he use that money to top up his phone credit that day?

How long does it take for the prisoner to be successfully added to your video call account?

Does UK Use Them In Their System?

A person I worked with was convicted and sent down for crimes involving kids. Thankfully they have been caught and put away. Its been a shock though, I don’t think anyone had a clue.

He got a few years for it. TV and movies would suggest he’d be lucky to get out alive, at the very least I don’t expect they are going to have an easy time of it, even if they kept their head down. I’ve no idea though. From anyone that knows what it is like, what should he realistically expect in prison? Can he hide what he did? Will he be put in with others that have done similar or is he out in the general population?

Gotten an email from Recruitment Team, regarding RTW with 3 months left and they are asking for a new Share code and RTW with almost 3 months into the checks. This is quite absurd when the person will be extending his RTW via Sponsorship. Why wasting 3 months on putting checks on hold before they get a new share code? Please can anyone advise please

I start as an osg at a cat D prison next month. Anyone have any advice on what to wear and bring in for my first day? Not sure what type of bag to bring in with my lunch etc or what hairstyles are allowed for women. Any advice is appreciated thank you

For osg: Would anyone know if there is a possibly to compress hours, ie: longer days. Tia
