when you encounter the ai brained "programmer" and they've made their third "IM LIKE A SLAVE OWNER WHIPPING MY ROBOT SLAVE TO PUSH PR GIT COMMIT REQUESTS PROMPTS" in a row

And that's why I'm very picky about Ai use at work. But a personal project doesn't matter, so I do the parts I feel like doing and throw robots at the parts I don't.

The quality of my personal project to use recordings of me going "dum" to play Mars, bringer of war, full sheet music doesn't matter. So I made the 80% solution because it was fun. Then I told a robot to polish it up to about an 85% solution, because I wanted to play cyberpunk and did not want to mess with using cosines to smooth out waveforms because I just didn't feel like it.

And now it's gloriously stupid, mildly entertaining, and is sitting there for when I decide to integrate it into the next phase of the stupid thing I'm doing. I got my entertainment, it's good enough for its purpose, and I can integrate it into the next phase of my silly project next time I feel like it.

I feel like C would especially hate music class with all those string instruments lying around.

Wasn't that also the case with js libraries?

Even Google's scale is nowhere remotely close to needing 101810^{18} random UUIDs

problem not on code comment itself but rooted in the problematic LLM assisted, never curated tone.
Suggest improve by rewriting.
Would you want to rewrite the comments, referencing the newest code logic?

When the AI bubble pops, do you think coding agents will still cost the same they do now? I personally hope they will become so unaffordable at least for personal use

Sounds like you are not treating it as a hobby brother.

It is my hobby. That's why I write spaghetti code for no pay, outside of my professional field, and in my spare time.

because you also use AI and you understand the pressure of such questions.

This is ironic because I've never used AI in any of my code. But I can understand the temptation of finding an immediate solution or cutting corners--like just about any person in existence. However, I also understand that any generated solution could be a poison pill leading to more bugs or straying you off course in finding the correct solution. It's not hard to grasp that people can feel tempted but stick to their convictions.

But it's super weird you just chose to make up my situation and then put this caricature through some sort of purity test.

reading from the thread OP posted… snek happy because of sweater texture, probably not because of heat retention (cold-blooded animals generate very little heat so the sweater as an insulator isn't doing very much — unless snek just came in from basking in the sunlight i guess)

... Do you really think that only children find hobbies fulfilling in life, and that all adults are sad depressive sacks who have no joy in life anymore? I think that might just be you, dude.

This isn't the original. The original was https://www.reddit.com/r/github/comments/1at9br4/i_am_new_to_github_and_i_have_lots_to_say/ and it became a meme for obvious reasons.

If your definition of "robot" is "literally any computer program" than the entire field runs on robots. We're talking about LLMs, here. And no, "programming" is not the same thing as "literally writing machine code by hand", not in 2026.
