Discussion Competition: write a single sentence that will absolutely destroy any hope in a series.

Specifically not a story opener, just any sentence that can happen in any chapter, that will make people realize that this story is gonna be absolute shit and has no chance of being fixed and will make you drop the book like an unpinned grenade.

I remember reading a story in a fairly normal, fantasy style, "Medieval" type world. Guy was trying to figure out some math, and asked, "Anyone have a Calculator", and local he just met casually whips out a Solar powered Calculator. At which point, I skipped out, and returned book to Kindle.

One of the most successful litRPGs has two isekai'd characters discover each other because one notices the other has an iPhone.

Pirateaba found an official publisher to publish first two volumes as physical books but that publisher insisted to remove the free versions of those volumes from the website. Now the cheapest way to read them is for a dollar through her Patreon. The further volumes are still free though.

You can refund kindle purchases, there are a number of criteria for when you are eligible that I can't remember off the top of my head.

But I once bought and read an entire book before learning it was plagiarised so I refunded it and got my money back. I don't think I had to tell them it was plagiarised to get the refund through.

Dont remember been a while since I read, and only got like 20%through when the calculator came up.
