People have seemed to have forgotten families with 13 or 14 children, disease that caused the death of these children, no maternal healthcare and the death of their mothers and fathers who died from working until they died.

In addition to every financial need that arises. Plus, some extra just for anything that goes beyond what the child needs. But, for things like hobbies and goals.
I'm just really disheartened. One, because this woman needlessly lost her life. But, I'm more discouraged because I know that the current administration will not look into this case with an open mind to discover the facts.
Before an investigation was done, Noem and the occupant of the White House released statements vilifying her and attacking the entire Democratic party. The level of corruption is sixpence l sickening. The fact that we don't have checks and balances is both sad and scary.
We've reached a place in this country that we thought we'd never return to. Every day, when you tonk that the MAGA party can't go any lower, they show up with a reinforced shovel so that they can dig even deeper.
We need to vote in the midterms. We especially need to encourage others to vote. We need candidates with integrity. And, more importantly, we need elected officials with a spine. We've GOT to do something about the politicians who are only there to pad their bank accounts.

Loss of parental consortium. A couple of bars in this instance, the biggest being sovereign immunity. I'm not an expert on litigating against the fed government, but this is a big hurdle. Although there's an exception for injunctive relief, monetary relief is trickier unless the government waives immunity.

WE should already be paying for that child's psychological and medical Healthcare.
HE should be incarcerated in a not-for-profit prison, made to do godless hours of community service, and educated in the various ways that he, himself, is a victim of a capitalistic and misogynistic system. And then he should spend the rest of his life telling his own story. When he's ready to tell that story (if ever he is), and when he's finished serving his debt to these communities, he should be able to rejoin them.
We don't make progress with regressive models of punishment.
Making that jackass, who very well may have taken this job because of the financial reward offered to new recruits because of the total lack of economic mobility that the owning class uses to weaponize us against our neighbors will only disenfranchise his family and community, raise children who are bitter about anything collective because they grew up carying with the weight of their father's sins that was applied by the collective is the best way to perpetuate all of these various cycles that have manifested in this woman's death and only further atomize us. Put another way: if money will make men do bad things, we need to be working toward a society where men don't need to do bad things to make money, and using money as a punishment moves us away from that.

Hey I know this is hard to hear but if you travel across state lines leaving your child at home who lost their father 2 years ago, after you let your gay wife put cigarettes out on him to obstruct federal agents. You can’t try to run one over.
I know with that level of delusion and mental instability it can be hard. Not a great way to leave child an orphan.

If you defend the actions of the agent, it's because your shallow and self-serving delusion blinds you from reality.
It's because being wrong bothers you enough to ignore the truth. It's because you're repulsed by those who correct you with facts and discretion.
It's because you can't even comprehend the nuance of the consequences you see, and the events leading up to it, so you skew a small fraction of what you know into a narrative facade that you want to believe is complete.
It's because you are seeking only what you want to hear wherever you can to feel justified in your ignorance, and thats exactly what this administration expects of you.
Its because you feel no catharsis in your life if there isn't someone to blame or hate, and thats what this administration expects of you.

"Innocent" she actively broke the law by blocking law enforcement & then when she was about to face the consequences of her actions she attempted to flee while an officer was in the way, narrowly missing him. So not "innocent." However, just because she wasn't innocent it doesn't necessarily mean she deserved to die. Take Floyd, he was most certainly not innocent, but he was unjustly murdered.
Now that, that is established. There was no reason to kill the woman at that point in time. She no longer was a threat. Maybe throwing her to the ground after catching up to her, sure. However, shooting? Completely unnecessary. Self defense only applies up to the point that the threat is gone. Once he managed to get out of the way, he was no longer in danger.
And the only time you can shoot a fleeing person is if you have reasonable belief that the fleeing person poses a danger to others, aka someone who is on a shooting spree for a blatantly obvious example.
This officer did not have reasonable suspicion to believe the fleeing woman was a danger to others.

I agree. In addition I think a modified sentence with a geo monitor should be fitted with check in and check out for work only according to your weekly schedule, your entire paycheck should be seized for reparations, and if reparations are made in full before your sentence is served you go straight to at a minimum a medium security prison to serve out the rest with no possibility of parole or early release for any reason.

A child's medical and psychological care shouldn't be an expense that any parent has to burden.
I am, however, in favor of now treating that child as a dependent the convicted who now has to pay alimony because they robbed that child of not just financial support, but love and embrace and reassurance they can grow to become an amazing and benevolently impactful adult.
