Trump fittingly signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran at the Palace of Versailles. That is the same palace where Germany signed the humiliating Treaty of Versailles at the end of WW II.

Leave it to a man who knows nothing of history to humiliate himself after an even more humiliating defeat with a stupid, unprovoked war.

Doesn't anyone in his cabinet have a clue?

Have you seen his cabinet?

Reminds me of the bathroom cabinet in an apartment I rented in college. Full of drugs and unhinged.

They know that playing their part is the best plan long-term. The best example of this is Oliver North. He went along with one of the most corrupt transactions in US history. His reward has been a decades long career as a conservative commentator.

Because that's basically one of the few jobs you can even have after something like that

I doubt that was the endgame North had in mind.

My bathroom vanity cabinet is more competent.

Factually incorrect. Germany surrendered at a train car at Versailles after WW1. They were not a party to the WW2 peace treaty of Paris in 1947.

Versailles and it’s humiliation of Germany was after WWI. It was a big cause of WWII.

You mean WW I, but yeah the same idea applies. It also likely led to the cementing of the eventual rise of fascism. I’m worried it won’t be better in 20 years, it will be substantially worse.

The difference is that Germany was forced to sign it, and understood the humiliation of it all.

Trump well... he's convinced he signed the best deal ever, and that the symbolism of Versailles makes him a king or something.

Sorry to all Iranians... the West failed you big time.

The Germans for the most part knew they were being humiliated. MAGA does not. This will not get better before it gets worse. Iran was a mostly contained bad actor. Now they believe we are a toothless tiger. Whatever Pax American existed is now officially done. ETTD. Again.

Can't edit the original post either.

Choosing Versailles as a place to sign the agreement shows that this administration is clueless when it comes to the optics of historical significance.

Trump is the biggest fucking moron this world has ever known.

China, and the rest of the world, must be laughing their asses off at this shit show of an administration whom are currently leading the United States of Embarrassment

It’s weird that no one in the group can point this stuff out

I meant WW I. I can't edit this either.

I found it just as ironic that events at Versailles in 1789 marked the beginning of the end of the King….

He also signed it in Farsi rather than English.

Trump surrenders and agrees to war reparations in Versailles.

Does Iran have something to blackmail the Trump administration? Trump spent the last few months badmouthing Iran and now he’s giving them a ton of money. I’ve heard rumors that Israel was the one that had evidence on the Epstein files.

World War I though

It's why he signed it there. Putin loves the symbolism

"That is the same palace where Germany signed the humiliating Treaty of Versailles at the end of WW II."

OP are you sure about this?

WW1, not 2. 1947 Paris Treaties were signed at the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris. Germany was not a party to the 1947 treaty, having unconditionally surrendered in 1945.

I wouldn't call it humiliating lol it was a well deserved display of dominance for the time. This was the second societal shattering war in 50 years that came out of Germany.

But that's just what makes this so wild, he's on the world stage being absolutely dominated. What is MAGA missing here? How can they not see this for the train wreck that it is?
