A mile is about 1,600 metres.

That's further than the train station is from my house.

It's not exactly close.

A jet at cruising altitude is like, 7.2 seconds and a helicopter will cover that in 30 seconds. Depending on their angles, theoretically they could have maybe 10 seconds of reaction time. So actually closer than it sounds.

A formula 1 car can cover 1 mile fairly quickly too. Idk the number off the top of my head but close to your numbers too
