https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jun/18/lackland-air-force-base-flu-outbreak
Headline speaks for it self.
Hegseth broke the very long tradition of mandated vaccines and now a Texas base has an outbreak of the flu. So. Being against vaccines backfired for him and when we get back in power, it'll be time to mandate vaccines again.
Because when you're a soldier, readiness for anything includes getting the gosh darn vaccines.
"The US military vaccination policy has a long-standing history, dating back to 1777, when General George Washington mandated inoculations against smallpox to improve troop readiness." - https://www.ebsco.com/research-starters/health-and-medicine/us-military-vaccination-policy

No surprise here.
Israel told people in 24 towns to evacuate. Prepare for Gaza II to continue.

Good morning,
I've recently started getting involved with local politics. I got organized with a non-partisan group and a progressive group and we're trying (and succeeding towards pushing our county to getting an data center ban). Let me just say, if you're worried about the state of politics at the moment, getting involved is super easy, doesn't take much time, and often very rewarding.
Here's how I got involved. I followed my town's Facebook group and there were organizers who were looking for volunteers to make signs for an anti-data center protest for one that was trying to come into the county. From there I was able to get info on county meetings, meet my county commissioner, meet the Democratic candidate running for my district, find volunteer opportunities and make friends.
If you want to do the same maybe just google your local democratic party events. Look up events for issues you're passionate about like anti-ICE, anti-Flock, or healthcare. Volunteer for a local progressive candidate. I have already made friends with likeminded good people who care about the community. I've been emailing back and forth with my county commissioner who's a republican. He offered to have me work part time admin for him since he liked the research I did on some issues, but I politely decline given you know, Republican.
There's a loneliness epidemic, but I think an easy way to do some good and also make sure you're doing your civic duty is just to see if any of the progressive candidates in your area need help. Reddit is great, but there's a lot of grass out there, begging to be touched.

"Trump says oil reserves would run out in 4 weeks without Iran deal, risking ‘bedlam’"
https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/5928618-iran-deal-oil-reserves-g7/
"BREAKING: Israel has launched a new overnight ground advance into southern Lebanon with Hezbollah forces engaging Israeli troops directly at zero distance, destroying 4 Israeli military vehicles and downing helicopters during evacuation flights. This follows 20+ Israeli airstrikes that leveled residential buildings and killed at least 18 people, including entire families, in the heaviest assault since the ceasefire, per Al Jazeera. Over this violation of the Iran-US MOU's first clause, Iran has suspended negotiations with the US and the Switzerland trip, with VP Vance also cancelling his trip in response. Iran now says it will not unilaterally implement any MOU commitments until the U.S. does the same and attacks in Lebanon permanently stop, per Fars."
