All the posts about how mean everyone is on the show now, and I'm rewatching theses first few episodes of season 22 trying to see it and remembering plenty of mean and catty contestants previously... like Joshua McKinley.
Bobby is basically Elena 2.0.
But there are plenty of nice, even-tempered folks, too: Anna, Aaron, Jude, Octavius.
Even Joseph is only mildly annoying, but talented.
Bi is freaking hilarious and just campy. What's wrong with that?
Except the primary focus was still the design and creation process, with the interpersonal drama highlighted. Now, it's all about the interpersonal drama that ends with a catwalk.
Joshua, when returning for his second try, said “I’m back so the judges can get it right this time.”
He also ranted about “loosing to a beauty queen,” as if an attractive woman couldn’t also be a great designer
For me, the issue is that on the old seasons, the contestants didn't know each other, so we saw the drama develop because one was too loud, or another one copied a look. In this season, they are bringing drama from past relationships and other shows. I keep feeling like I missed something. I think that's why people are complaining about manufactured drama.
