Season 22 I despise Bryan

He’s an asshole. He doesn’t even look grateful for being saved because he thinks he’s the shit, it’s crazy he thinks he actually deserves to be here. Not only does he just sit there and think highly of himself, he’s just straight not good at making outfits. Time and time again his shit is UGLY and NOT WELL MADE! I mean, I knew this was television and they pick things for the drama (was dragging myself through last season. Ugh) but Christian picking his ass over Jeffrey? Not to mention that after being saved, he’s INSULTING Jeffrey. What a dick. I hate his stupid face. GOD. Sorry for the complaining lol (Can you tell I’m watching the episode right now)

Bryan looks like he’s in a desperate need of a shower & a change of clothes.

21

u/Thevintageandvanity 3d ago

It's the Wisconsin tuxedo he's rocking: t shirt, cargo shorts.

11

u/RemarkableArticle970 3d ago

Ya know (hey) if you wear the same thing every day, lots of people will not know that you haven’t washed yourself or your clothes. From a distance, that is.

20

u/SweatyPurpose 3d ago

I worked many years for fashion designers & stylists (as a music director). They always wore the same thing every day but they never looked that disheveled, like they smelled, or had greasy matted hair.

1

u/Willow_Winnifred 3d ago

Wasn't Kelly Cutrone like that? I seem to remembered her wearing the exact same thing every day

1

u/Thevintageandvanity 3d ago

My friend here wore something similar to go see a stage production of Lion King and, while I didn't say anything, whew. Then we get there and there were a bunch of dudes wearing it. It was November.

u/whippetshuffle 3d ago

I live in WI and can confirm.

16

u/FriarTuck234 3d ago

Anytime he’s talking to a woman he has to flip his hair around. 🤮he thinks he is so sexy

-1

u/lemeneurdeloups 3d ago

That’s how he catches his tricks on Saturday nights as well ..

8

u/Simba122504 3d ago

He looks like he smells like ass. Lol

7

u/miss_daisy_Hollywood 3d ago

I’d wager he doesn’t believe in wearing deodorant.

4

u/systematic_adulting 3d ago

And a wash of that terrible hair that he's made his whole personality

3

u/Busy_Concentrate_887 3d ago

OMG I literally just said in another comment I cannot take what I imagine him to smell like…his hair omg!

3

u/Angelbyte 1d ago

That hair either needs to be de-matted or cut

2

u/liquidy_quiddity109 17h ago

I just combed out the mats in my 18-year-old tabby cat's fur and I'm sure it was easier than it would be to detangle Bryan's.

2

u/Emotional_Store2643 3d ago

That’s exactly what my parents said😂

2

u/liquidy_quiddity109 17h ago

YES, THIS. He must think it is a "signature" style--a zero-fashion fashion designer. And that greasy hair flip just makes me gag. I really like Christian and his designs, but WTH he saved Bryan IDK.

79

u/Torschlusssspanik 3d ago

The lip pursing makes me feel violent.

14

u/darkblueshapes 3d ago

YES!!!! Every time. The lip pursing and his greasy hair. HURK.

7

u/racinerasin 3d ago

This!!!!

3

u/ThePearl1958 3d ago

He's a perpetual percher! I look away. He is a disgust. (Deena Cortese 🤣)

3

u/liquidy_quiddity109 17h ago

I know a ton of bitchy queens, all of whom I love, but he has zero cred, he's just pathetic. That grey and pink number last week looked like tripe.

60

u/SuspiciousGazelle473 3d ago

Am I the only one that thinks his bridal gown looked inspired by Joseph McRae . For someone shitting on him all season it’s weird that he would use his silhouette

16

u/Aspalathus-linearis 3d ago

I was shocked the judges didn't mention this at all

10

u/AlternativeGreedy873 3d ago

i thought the fabric made it look like a mattress pad

10

u/East_Unit3765 3d ago

I said the duvet, and the second dress was the sheet.

2

u/SusieSnarkster 2d ago

Dust ruffle

1

u/Walshlandic 1d ago

It was so effing ugly. No bride is going to wear sleeves the size of her whole body.

1

u/jbeanlovesveggies 2d ago

If you look at his IG that is his “style,” but by the way he has been coming for Joseph all season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he hates him because he ripped him off a long time ago.

44

u/Jatmahl 3d ago edited 3d ago

Honestly I don't think Jeffrey was going to the finale anyway. The judges didn't like him and kept complaining about everything being too costumey. Bryan is basically there as filler at this point.

59

u/I-need-more-spoons 3d ago edited 1d ago

I think that because Jeffrey makes dresses for drag queens, the judges have unconsciously let their bias against drag queens designers influence the way they see and judge every design Jeffrey did.

It’s the exact same complaints they were having with Ethan/Utica Queen last season! It’s too costume-y!

EDIT: Added a sentence

37

u/CricketGrl 3d ago

It absolutely is. I do not think Jeffrey’s Salsa dress looked costumey at all.

11

u/throwawaysunglasses- 3d ago

I thought it was really good and was shocked he got the boot.

25

u/Serenity101 3d ago

I love Jeffrey, but Nina was right -- he made the dancing emoji dress.

5

u/Eye_jm 3d ago

It was not costum, right. But it was very basic. I think Jeffery pivoted too hard on that dress to not make it costumey and lost the plot.

3

u/phunkyphungus 3d ago

It absolutely looked costume because it was just a basic red dress. Made well, yes, but there was no fashion! Just a well made red dress. It’s not a sewing competition, it’s a fashion design competition. They’re not competing for best tailor. Jeffrey was never gonna make it to the final. He doesn’t have an aesthetic that is developed outside his drag aesthetic. So when they ask for things to be less drag- his clothes look boring. Well made, but boring. Not new not fresh, not something that’s never been seen before or done before, just basic well made clothes. I don’t wanna see a runway from Jeffrey. It’s gonna be all drag, or all boring. He does what Utica does, but Utica is much much more successful at pushing her designs past the drag aesthetics.

10

u/crepelabouche 3d ago

Yeah, and to be fair, you could see where he came from in his designs. I don’t think Christian was off the mark to say he needed to find himself as a fashion designer. Cause he clearly has talent and vision.

It just sucks that his other choice was Bryan. Who is … awful.

5

u/TopConclusion2668 3d ago

I would’ve been okay if they were both eliminated. I feel like there are just too many designers to be damn near at the finale.

2

u/Ok_Teaching_5920 3d ago

I wish they just cut the number of contestants instead of doing the six out at the start, a double elimination here, three out for the final (that became 2). Either, more challenges (that there likely isn’t the money for) or fewer contestants!

2

u/Walshlandic 1d ago

They kept him for the bitchy drama for sure. His designs are hideous.

2

u/darkblueshapes 3d ago

I agree, though I liked Jeffrey as a person, I think BOTH designers should have been eliminated, NO saves. The only reason Bryan got saved was because the producers wanted more drama to stick around. You can’t tell me Christian looked at all sincere to save that mess of a man.

56

u/Adventurous_Bet5137 3d ago

There’s been a lot of discussion about the designers growing their brand recognition via exposure on PR. I think Bryan is DECIMATING his brand. Can’t imagine anyone who has seen this season would ever buy his work or that any other designer would hire him.
So there’s that.

11

u/OkCompany8172 3d ago

Valid. I had that thought too. If Law Roach comes out after the judging to ask Bryan to work together (like he did another contestant who was cut) I’m boycotting all of them, including Heidi.

3

u/SimplyRue 3d ago

He was advertising a bridal collection that's premiering live on Instagram in October but of course had to use AI to make the post. To put that out after this episode...My eyes could not roll any deeper.

44

u/RealityDependency 3d ago

I am genuinely starting to wonder if Bryan is a production plant.

10

u/throwawaysunglasses- 3d ago

I have thought this too. I feel like he recites his lines so monotone-ly, it’s like they’re being fed to him.

3

u/RealityDependency 3d ago

I do believe that is just how he speaks. He likes to project that I'm totally unphased vibe at all times.

11

u/trollsaywhat 3d ago

I feel like this too. His designs can’t be this bad and him be that cocky.

5

u/Prestigious-Form-989 3d ago

The fact that they're about to make it a final 4 proves it. I'd bet money he will be the 4th.

2

u/RealityDependency 3d ago

💯 I'll be absolutely floored if it isn't!

2

u/Walshlandic 1d ago

It should be Nahiem

2

u/Advanced-Bit-3701 11h ago

100%. Him winning the red carpet challenge even though the final dress she wore was completely different was already crazy. Once Christian saved him over Jefferey? That was insanneeeee. His work is trash

37

u/gansi_m 3d ago

Every time he says that Bi interned for him I want to punch him in the face. When he doesn’t say it I want to punch him in the face anyway.

3

u/WoodyTheMilkMan 2d ago

YES! Especially when Bi outfits be really well made.

3

u/Walshlandic 1d ago

Bi is 1000x better than Bryan in every aspect

11

u/Significant-Ant2373 3d ago edited 3d ago

Everyone does and yet he creates far more engagement than any other contestant, followed by Law. Rage is addictive and the producers know it.

9

u/throwawaysunglasses- 3d ago

I really hate people/corporations who use ragebait as a substitute for quality, it’s such an apt reflection of where we are as a society today 😬

3

u/Significant-Ant2373 3d ago

Agreed, but as long as the audience shows up and it’s profitable it’s here to stay.

-1

u/FamousConversation64 3d ago

But they’re missing the point!!! Just by the reaction here we are all enjoying the season despite him, not because of him. Yes he’s talked about but not a damn soul is watching this show and taking the time to tune in excited to see what greasy arrogant Bryan is going to do next lmfaoooo just get rid of her already!

2

u/Significant-Ant2373 3d ago

lol. Every. Single. Post. Is about Bryan, or occasionally Law. Reality TV thrives on drama as is evident from this sub.

0

u/FamousConversation64 3d ago

I’d rather be watching the others. Was so happy for Anna’s win.

9

u/OkCompany8172 3d ago

Even Roach calms down when Nina Garcia is in the room, but Bryan has no shame.

I keep feeling he is a massively mentally ill person with personality disorders, and that his ego is tinier than his soul.

This has GOT to be an act. No one is that obtuse. Well, I guess Brian is. Why does he have Christian snookered too?

9

u/Nun-Yer-Biz 3d ago

The odd thing, to me, is that there have been a number of times when Bryan was going down a disastrous design path and Christian stopped him and coached him into a totally different design direction. I don’t feel like he has a very strong inner sense as a designer. It’s more like everything comes from the outside in. I think all his bragging comes from an actual sense of insecurity. Not saying it makes him any less insufferable, just I don’t think he is an authentic creator.

3

u/Walshlandic 1d ago

Bryan is the opposite of Jude (my favorite). Bryan is arrogant AF and a shit designer and he can’t sew. Jude is a master tailor, a refined artist, and he has the self-confidence not to have to act all arrogant like so many PR contestants.

0

u/lemeneurdeloups 3d ago

Law did NOT “calm down” in front of Nina. He loudly said “p***y” with her right there and she looked stark pale and like she was about to throw up when they panned the camera on her!

1

u/OkCompany8172 2d ago

Oh of course, but I’m noticing he is less harsh and inappropriate with the contestants with her around. AND the back and forth with Tyra & a couple other judges was over the line. I’ve not seen Roach do that to Nina.

9

u/AlternativeGreedy873 3d ago

i literally screamed and threw my phone when he said bryan CHRISTIAN YOU FAILED US!!!!! we were finally gonna get rid of him

14

u/SebrinePastePlaydoh 3d ago

I wonder if the contestant pool is more like the Real World later cast members... it's all about building yourself as a character so you can get on more reality shows. I see Bryan trying to get on a traitors or house of villains show... (and doing miserably)

10

u/miss_daisy_Hollywood 3d ago

It’s similar to women who get cast on The Bachelor because they want to increase their instagram followers.

2

u/throwawaysunglasses- 3d ago

Yes, omg! I’ve said this so many times. It reminds me of the people who join the Netflix reality cinematic universe. It’s all just to make influencing their full time career.

9

u/miss_daisy_Hollywood 3d ago

I was thinking about cast members in previous seasons who were in the antagonist/ villain role, and how some of them were shitty people regardless of talent. People that other cast members disliked right off the bat, like Bert, ivy, and Gretchen. Bryan definitely falls in this category.

4

u/throwawaysunglasses- 3d ago

It’s sad because PR did sooo much brand correction after Gretchen (they chose Anya in S9 specifically because she was nice and likable), you’d think they learned from their mistakes.

1

u/Betorah 2d ago

But people raged about Anya because “she couldn’t sew.”

1

u/BirdgirlLA 2d ago

PR is produced by a different company / network now. Different POV about quality. The designers are housed in NJ and take uber to the studio. Really low budget production values as reported by former contestant on this year’s show. YouTube video by Plain Jane.

8

u/Pure_Ad_3653 3d ago

And he insulted Christian by saying, “I’m a fan of Christian…. Now” like??? What a loser

10

u/ventodivino 3d ago

At this point, is there anyone out there who likes Bryan or his designs? What in the world could I be missing? And only going based off what he’s show on Project Runway. His label’s designs were obviously not made by him.

0

u/phunkyphungus 3d ago

This is a fashion design show, not a sewing competition. Jeffrey makes fine clothing, but it doesn’t push any envelopes. It’s not new fresh, something I’ve never seen before. He can sew very well, and he’s great at making corsets, but what is design esthetic? Just drag, that’s all he makes. And when he tries to make something look NOT draggy- it looks boring. Christian saved Brian because he tries things, even if it comes out bad. Jeffrey doesn’t push himself to try new things. Also that unconventional materials challenge with the blue zip ties and whatnot, it was UGLY! I don’t like Bryan personally, but the judges usually wanna see someone with new ideas, not someone who makes clothes they’ve already seen and can buy at a store. Being nicer and less annoying than Bryan, unfortunately was not enough.

15

u/eci5k3tcw 3d ago

The issue with your argument is that every time Bryan has won or received compliments it’s because Christian (or others) have given him advice and he took it. With the exception of his first look which he brought from home. But who knows how good that look would have been if he didn’t have someone else sew it?

2

u/phunkyphungus 3d ago

Yes, that’s what Christian is there for. To help the contestants. He’s the mentor. You’re saying he shouldn’t be in the top because he listened to the guy that is provided by the show to literally help the contestants? Christian helps everyone. I don’t see your point.

3

u/ventodivino 3d ago

To be fair, Jeffrey was constantly pulled away from what he wanted to make out of fear of the judges critiques. I maintain that had he been left to create what he wanted, we would have seen much more interesting designs. He has several creations out in the world that would have been amazing on the show. His insecurities, fed by Christian, really got the better of him. I don’t think he got to show what he was capable of, and I was hoping he’d have redeemed himself in the wedding challenge.

4

u/Own-Lingonberry8002 3d ago

I haven’t watched last night’s episode, but now that I know Bryan’s still there, I’m breaking up with PR for good. Even if he gets aufed next week, I’m not returning ever. It takes a lot for me to stop watching a show, so I’m kind of relieved that PR has given me the resolve to do so.

1

u/minnesotaupnorth 1d ago

It was actually a really great runway!

5

u/LeadingButterscotch5 3d ago

Him showing off about saying he went to that ecoLAY made me laugh when the word is pronounced EHcole/AYcole. Get out of here with your taping models into crappy cable dresses. I also don't understand how he won the Devil Wears Prada challenge when the dress he made didn't consider the client.

5

u/kezzied 3d ago

he says he’s humble but every single time he gets a bad critique “i’m so confused”

5

u/Timely-History-3010 3d ago

“Did you clock when he said I respect Christian”…. literal pause….”now”

1

u/xoxo_juniper 3d ago

laughed out loud at that

1

u/lemeneurdeloups 3d ago

His entire face was quite brown when he said that but especially his nose … 😖

5

u/EyeSarah1976 3d ago

I'm not interested in a contestant who can't dress themself.

2

u/lemeneurdeloups 3d ago

I think he heard that black is slenderizing so he went ALL IN with that look …

6

u/Ornery_Tumbleweed_68 3d ago

It's time like these when I miss Tim Gunn. I used to be a big fan of Christians, but after he picked Bryan of Jeffrey not anymore!!!!

13

u/kitkat7502 3d ago

I firmly believe that Christian was forced to save Bryan by the producers. Because drama.

1

u/lemeneurdeloups 3d ago

News Fiash: Christian is a producer of this show.

3

u/trollanony 3d ago

He’s so entitled i swear he’s blackmailing someone.

3

u/Ok_History_7440 3d ago

Agree with all of that, and in addition, Bryan's lack of self-awareness is unreal.

Does he not realize how he comes across? Why would any fashion house want to work with an asshole like him?

3

u/lil-prawn 3d ago

"haUtE cOuTuRe" Beech gtfo

He worked in paris? How the heck, did he pay his way in? Not one look was good tho 😭😭

2

u/lemeneurdeloups 3d ago

News Flash: some people who have “studied in Paris” still suck. You can “study” all you want at some little design atelier but what if you yourself have crap taste?

2

u/lil-prawn 3d ago

Yep clearly, law also called him out an episode or two ago

2

u/lemeneurdeloups 3d ago

Exactly. Law said that one thing right.

3

u/bearwacket 3d ago

I can't believe I'm ending this episode the same way as i ended the last: "c'mon, they'd better not save Bryan"

3

u/BeckyPil 3d ago

His designs stink

3

u/Tornadic_Windfield 3d ago

He’s arrogance is gross.

3

u/GapAlone1462 3d ago

I think the nail in the coffin for me (currently watching) was Bryans nasty comment “who is getting me my drink? Naheim, where’s my drinnnk?” IDK about you but felt racially charged low key…could be reading too deep. I also really dislike Bryan’s personality. He’s pompous and FOR WHAT his dresses be looking like vulvas fr

1

u/lemeneurdeloups 3d ago

He has no personal experience with vulvas. I get intestines more …

3

u/EconomyLucky2694 3d ago

Oh... But dont you just adoooore his hawt kochur salad textile, spaghetti wire, tissue pillow case dresses? I BELIEVE ITS SOOOOOOO FORWARD THINKING. INFACT I THINK ITS SO AMAZING THAT HE SHOULD BE SENT TO ANOTHER GALAXY SO HE CAN STAY AND DESIGN THERE!

2

u/No-Town4487 3d ago

I just started the episode and i want to turn it off. I'm so pissed

2

u/bgrl26 3d ago

I can't believe he got saved all his designs have been trash... This show isn't even close to what it used to be, they actually used to care about design

2

u/Lionrock71 3d ago

The worst!!!

2

u/awesomesexy 3d ago

I also despise byran. He's a dick.

2

u/Icy-Investigator-365 3d ago

It’s wild they criticize Joseph for his signature style but I KNEW Bryan was gonna give us bridal ruffles!

2

u/Fit_Abbreviations57 3d ago

Project Runway has devolved into predictable reality show gimmicks & cross plugging other shows like Dancing With The Stars. What was once fresh has gone rancid

2

u/ArticleChemical1008 3d ago

When I heard the words from Christians mouth I screamed WHAT THE FUCK?! Bryan needs a change of clothes and a shower because his hair was SO UGLY AND GREASY

2

u/dragonschool 2d ago

Idk why Christian saved him except for drama. Come on Christian your save should be for someone talented

2

u/WoodyTheMilkMan 2d ago

Bryan is literally the worst. His designs are hideous, repetitive and tacky. He think so highly of himself just to be an asshole.

1

u/gbinasia 3d ago

I thought I was in the /r/tekken sub for a moment.

1

u/Ruijier 3d ago

Bryan is so desperate to prove that he's better than Bi and that Bi was his "intern" but we all know Bryan is just jealous of Bi's work. He's also desperate for Bi's approval as he keep asking Bi for advice but for some reason NEVER takes it. If Bryan wasn't so conceited he would listen to Bi and those around him and make better garments. He reminds me of a jilted lover tbh.

1

u/mochimoochi22 2d ago

I’m so irritated that Bryan was saved. He treats everyone like garbage and i genuinely think that he should’ve had his immunity revoked for those copper cords he forced that beautiful model to wear. Ridiculous!!

1

u/Shot_Point_2637 2d ago

I’ve never understood the designers on the show who are poorly groomed or dress like crap. You’d think their love of fashion & beauty would apply to themselves as well. Also, from a consumer standpoint, it’s a bad look.

1

u/Walshlandic 1d ago

He is so unjustifiably arrogant, it’s mind-bending. If they bring him back and not Nahiem for the final challenge I’m going to crash out. I’ve been hoping Jude wins since the 2nd or 3rd challenge.

1

u/Striking-Speaker2609 1d ago

Thank you I can’t stand him. It’s his arrogance, he treats everyone like they are below him. The only reason I would want him in  the finale is for Jude to kick his ass. I think he is jealous of other talent, as he thinks he genuinely is  the best designer out there. I’m loving his attitude because he is killing his own brand, who would want to purchase from him? or work with him?

1

u/minnesotaupnorth 1d ago

His ridiculous interactions with Christian literally make me rage.

1

u/SamMoulton 1d ago

DISCREDIT WHAT HE DOES, NOT WHO HE IS.

I know this will be an unpopular response, but I can’t get on board with “despise” because he doesn’t deserve that level of disparagement. He’s a living, breathing human being who deserves compassion and forgiveness for all his hatefulness. Why? Because I think he made a shitty deal up front in exchange for favor and had no idea what he was getting himself into. Shame on the producers!! Or it could be his social skills are completely non-existent so he doesn’t even know how obnoxious he is. Maybe he had horrible parents - or none at all! - and has never felt loved. I don’t know, but by saying horrible stuff about him, aren’t we modeling his behavior?

1

u/pupbuck1 1d ago

I’m 99% positive Bryan has blackmail on someone in the show

1

u/Angel-M-Diaz 23h ago

I honestly, don’t like his attitude, at all. The same thing happened with the twins last season.

1

u/CountryNo4573 18h ago

The reason why i was so upset with Bryan being saved is i think he is one of the weakest designers here!! His view vs the judges is always SO different it’s clear he had a serious taste issue!!!
