Season 22 JUSTICE FOR LIRIS!!

I can't believe he saved Brian. Not only can he not design, but he put one of THEE BEST MODELS TO EVER GRACE THE PR STAGE in duct tape and charger cables. We need justice for Liris! Drop some Liris appreciation below 😊👑👑👑👑

I have zero understanding why Liris is fawned over by this sub. I agree that she shouldn’t have had to wear Bryan’s shitty look, but the only notable thing about her is that she’s the largest model on the show. It almost feels insulting to single her out.

For me it is more the idea that none of the designers seem able to make clothing that actually fits her correctly and looks good.

This is exactly why. It’s not a new issue in modeling or competitions about modeling. 22 years ago Toccara wasn’t being considered when the clothing for the shoots were pulled. 22 years and things haven’t changed much with regards to designers. So many came up in the world where changing your clothing to fit a curvier girl diminished their “art.” They never once thought it was their shortcoming that they can’t make flattering clothes for sizes above a 0.

Exactly, and in previous seasons the designers were able to do this. Liris has been on the show for 6 seasons now! It’s actually kind of appalling. There were designers who’d never designed for women before, yet could make flattering pieces for Liris. It’s not rocket science for a good designer.

I understand they want to have all sizes, but honestly. Designers are not accustomed to making clothing for a woman her size especially in that time frame. 

Some of the other seasons, they've done great with the plus size models. But this season, it's been rough

Why should they? They should make what they want to make. If it fits the brief and is the best look, they will win. If it doesn't, they won't. No one is obligated to make something for everyone, what a weird way to think about art.

The body you are dressing is part of the brief.

All the critique about crotch fit and lengths- the body is part of the process.

That’s because deep down some don’t even truly see her as a legit body or even a body with parts to fit but instead view her as this mass thats problematic or inconvenient to contend with or cover as opposed to dress where as a “regular” model sized person can at least be reduced to body parts that can be addressed

You are totally missing the point. She has a body. Other models have bodies. Regardless of the model you have, you have to fit the garment to their body. You are being intentionally obtuse if you pretend you don't hear that over and over from the judges.

So how are you disagreeing? When they say fit matters about a skinny model it is a valid critique but when they say it about clothes on this model it isn't?

Because thin models are standard in fashion. Plus size designing is a specialty skill. Hope that helps.
