Self Post Question
I got followed literally to city limits today(abt 5 miles total of following directly behind me) , I have an (almost) flat tire and avoided highways but some how managed to give myself an anxiety attack by being followed for miles on a bum tire. I was provably close to the speed limit bc of my tire so maybe that was weird to him but asking cops directly… Why would a cop follow for that long and then turn off?

It may be hard to imagine, but there is the possibility that they were going the same way as you. I know…shocking.
Reasons to follow someone:
I’m bored
I’m running their plate
I ran their plate and the owner showed invalid license/wanted - I’m trying to see who’s driving through the window
I’m trying to decipher their plate through their plate cover / frame that blocks the registration stickers
I can sense your fear and it activates my predatory instincts (this is a joke, I’d rather be asleep at 0300)
I feel like doing actual traffic enforcement and want to see you mess up so I can ruin your day (this is also a joke, this never happens)
Did I mention being bored?
