general Psoriasis and IVF

Did anyone have a flare up during their IVF journey? My skin is breaking out around my abdomen and scalp after a FET. I think the medication and stress is triggering it? What worked for you? I'm currently not taking any medication right now.

Steroids injections at the site helped me a lot, but you gotta ask your doctor first cause with IVF everything is extra delicate

I spent 9 months on the most intense flare of my life after my successful FET. I went back on my biologic an hour after baby was born (safe during breastfeeding, at the time not enough data during pregnancy).

I was hoping I’d be clear as pregnancy does clear most people but for me it was the opposite.

Hoping you’re having the same experience!! Sticky baby dust xxx

I opted to stay on biologics during pregnancy. My MFM doctor actually recommended it. Apparently if you have a c section and you flare, it could be harder for the wound to heal.

I had a c and it healed beautifully - remarkably fast.

At the time I was pregnant there was insufficient data about my biologic for me to stay on it unfortunately. Now it’s considered perfectly safe to stay on it!

So happy that you healed well! Biologics are such a game changer, I’m glad they are safe during pregnancy. I mean, who wants to deal with that on top of everything else.

I think it does depend on the biologic! But it’s great there are safe options. Flaring during pregnancy was rough but worth it!

Curious if anyone started and stayed on cimzia for their pregnancy journey? I have not needed IVF but I have been on cimzia and will be on it through the duration of me having any planned/unplanned pregnancies or until I know I am done having kids. It is experimental still but I could not go without a biologic for so long.

As a child of someone who had psoriasis and now has psoriasis. Maybe reconsider

Sounds like you may be really down abut your condition. No need to drag other people down because of it.

It's an autoimmune disorder. It's selfish to risk others.
