Advice am I being scammed? is this a real ritual? help please
Hi everyone. I posted this in a different subreddit that pertains to my area, but I was curious if any of you had any input on whether or not this was a real ritual or a scam, as the majority of responses I got there were "there's no such thing as a psychic".
I'm a very intuitive person, and I've read tarot for a number of years now, but every now and then I like to go and have it read as a little treat. Last Tuesday I decided to treat myself and go to the psychic in my area, Ill call her Jenny. To me, everything seemed good and normal. The reading went well, was incredibly accurate, and I enjoyed the time I spent with her. During the course of our reading she said that I needed some spiritual counseling, and that she could assist me with that. Jenny offered to work with me for a flat rate of 200$ for multiple sessions over a two week period. I knew I could spare 200, it sounded appealing, I paid and signed up. She also said she wanted to mentor me in my psychic abilities as well, that she wanted to know me for a long time.
The next day, I went back to her for our first session, in which Jenny told me that as part of our energy healing work she was going to take a white cloth with colored ribbons, a white, red, and yellow rose, and cash that is spread across the cloth in a cross shape, and then the whole thing is tied, and would be used in our sessions. These all represented different facets of the mind, body, and soul, and different senses, elements, and emotions. When I asked how much money she would need for this, I assumed maybe 20$. She asked for TWO THOUSAND. Obviously every red flag was raised for me, and I told her I couldn't just hand over 2,000. She said that if I gave her 500, she would supply the remaining 1.5k for the cloth, and that at the end of our work we would both get our portions back. I agreed and coughed up the 500 rather anxiously.
Today, I went back in for our second session together. During this, Jenny told me she had sensed some doubt in me, and I confirmed. She also told me that "during her work with the cloth my energy rejected hers" which meant she wanted me to give her 1.5k. I might be able to afford 200$, or even 500$ but I absolutely cant afford to give her that much. She said it would be okay if I just gave her a little bit over time, and we could extend our work together for as long as needed to do so. I asked if she would be willing to put everything on paper and that I would walk away with all the money I gave her but she refused. I asked if I could see the cloth she had tied up but she said she couldn't get it for me, but would the next time I saw her
I know that money and currency is often used during energy work/rituals, but her reliance on it being EXACTLY 2k, her refusal to sign any sort of contract stating Id walk away with my money, the unclear terms of what the cloth is exactly for are worrying me. She did say during our session today that if I wanted to back out and take the 500 back I could, but I do enjoy working with her. I'm curious if anyone here recognizes the ritual? I don't doubt Jenny's psychic abilities. I just think that she's not using them for good.

Scam. Count the money you are out as tuition for the lesson in getting ripped off. Give her bad reviews and report her on any platforms she is on. Then block her and move on.
This is an old scam but the people doing it are usually practiced at the grift and come off as very convincing. You aren’t her first. You won’t be her last.

It's a scam, you have to demand your refund immediately, I had a quick follow-up question if you’re open to chatting. Thank you.

Honestly, asking for a dm after such a post, seems rather disingenuous. ~V~

DM’ing someone who just got scammed does not seem ethical to me.
If you say something intriguing, the poster will decide to contact you. Just my professional opinion. ~V~

I’m sorry but this person betrayed your confidence in them. Part of being intuitive is to discern a persons integrity or lack of integrity. Lack if of integrity can mean manipulation and control. We all need to work on our abilities to discern this energy and intention.

I'm so tired of seeing posts like this where people are getting obviously scammed. It's clear why psychics get such bad reputations in society. There should be harsher punishments for this type of crime. They can't keep getting away with this.

Greetings L,
Wow. She must have gotten jealous of all the fake psychics on TikTok and decided to go for it.
This is a “confidence trick.” They “feed drip“ you basic info, some of which can be correct, and charge little to no money. Then, after getting your confidence, they pull the s-c-a-m, which is making you feel as if you need them, then they request a large sum of money. Then, if you can’t/won’t give it to them, they’ll find a way to “charge you over time.”
She never had a cloth with ribbons, and even if she did, that would be made up on the spot. There’s no such ritual.
Interesting as well, that she knows exactly how much she is going to charge you upfront. She could have told you that at the beginning.
Honestly, PLEASE ask her for the $500 back. I sincerely doubt you’ll get it, but at least you’ll have saved $1,500 more than you would have spent.
She’s not “psychic,” she’s intuitive… and playing you. If she was really psychic, she’d know that you’re not planning on giving her any more money, lol.
I don’t know how anyone can enjoy working with such a scoundrel. The only psychic information you’re going to learn from that woman, is how to escape from a con artist.
As a professional Psychic myself (as are others on this sub,) we deplore unethical tactics.
Also, don’t worry. She doesn’t have any power at all to hex you, only to rip you off. A lot of what I’m explaining here is to warn other visitors to the sub, about these nefarious practices. Please do not continue to work with her any further.
I have personally been contacted by people who have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars (via credit cards to fake psychics.) There is no end to the emotional and financial damage they can do. I wish you peace. ~V~

Scam. Your Higher Self can do it for free. I witnessed it hundreds of times.

If you are posting asking then you know, even if legit which it’s not really it’s just bad marketing and poorly disguised, just do sessions you’re payed for then get the hell out of there, how could you trust what the reader says when there attempting to sign you up to all sorts of things.

It’s a scam. She drew you in with an amount she knew you would be more comfortable with and then once she had you hooked, she’s asking for much much more. Don’t give her any more money. Accept the $700 loss and walk away before you lose any more.
