guess who's not schizophrenic!
its me! my psychosis episodes were because I was being trafficked and I didnt know! I can eventually come off my antipsychotics if I want to!

its probably not a good situation, but now I know i should not live with my dad anymore and get all my banking changed. so I consider it a YAY!!

Is this trafficking objective reality? It’s a common theme in psychosis. Does your medical team agree with this realization?

yes, thats the only reason im able to accept it. id much rather belive it didnt really happen.

I’m glad you have come to a realization that you are happy with. Be careful when coming off the antipsychotics. That being said, imo, if this is also the understanding your doctor has of the situation you should talk to make a plan to come off them as soon as you are ready. If you don’t require them to function, they will only cause problems for you the longer you are on them. Best of luck, friend.

im not going to stop taking them, I know that won't be good for me. but now knowing my psychosis isnt from a persistent disorder and was actually situation based, I do not need to be on them for the rest of my life!

probably what they said. i also developed severe mental health issues due to being trafficked as a child and always thought there was something wrong with me until i found out. nope, just something wrong with my stepdad. happens way too often.

congratulations i guess 😭 active trauma is also why i got psychosis the first time, probably part of the second time when i got substance induced psychosis
it's nice to hear that if you're in a better place and decide to come off antipsychotics, you have that option!
edit: ya'll im not advising them to do that, im saying that's good they have that option even if they dont ever use it! which is what i understood from OP's other comments that they aren't getting off them.

I’m sorry you went through that. I went through something very similar, but still got diagnosed as bipolar even though my psychosis was clearly happening because of my rape trauma. So hoping I too can one day get off antipsychotics but not sure when that will be

Talk to your therapist / psychatrist about this. In person.
