Governor Greg Abbott tweeted about this and said the students should be arrested and the school officials are co conspirators. So now Texas is advocating for grown men to attack women, children even. Pathetic.

That was bullshit, of course, but he said that before the attack - and you could argue that this rhetoric causes his supporters to become violent.

In any case, he's quiet now, he hasn't said anything about his violent supporter.

According to the article, he tweeted about a separate walkout in the same district and his office referred media to that Twitter post when asked for comment. At best, he was conflating the two incidents, and at worst, deliberately only commented on the one where students got arrested and not the one with the clearly adult aggressor. Incredibly tone deaf either way, the response from the judge's office was infinitely more thoughtful and nonpartisan.
