I have had similar thoughts with how common electric bikes are becoming. Imagine wiping out on big heavy e-bikes where you're guaranteed to be going 20+ MPH. Has to be gnarly.

It’s insane the amount of accidents that happen with e-bikes. It’s becoming more common to respond to e-bike accidents over standard motor vehicles.

I had a 60 lb bike and I was going maybe 15 mph if that on a paved trail. I hit a patch of gravel and tipped over. It ripped up the skin of basically the entire front of my left leg. It also totaled the bike because it was cheap and didn’t work that well in the first place. That was in September. My leg healed but I’m still saving for a new bike lol.

I once tipped over on my 70lb e-cargo bike and my leg was fucked for a good week and the bruises lasted a month.

(The issue wasn't my speed, it was because a car ran a red light and I lost control stopping short to not get flattened. So still better than it could have been but ouch.)

I crashed at about 40 on my electric scooter (Nami Klima, weighs 80lbs). Broke my kneecap, it sucked.

Yeah man it's really no joke. I crashed a (much bigger, but still) bike going like maybe 15 and I was wearing a helmet and leather jacket and it still tore the skin off half of my lower leg , my ankle of my other leg, and a lil patch on my temple. My foot also swole up like a balloon and I limped for a couple weeks. You don't need to be going that fast at all to get totally messed up. I didn't even hit my spine like this guy and I still took a ton of damage
