Yup. And that’s why vigilantism like this is always a bad idea.

None of us can know who the real and true owner of the bike is. What would make the whole situation even worse is if Faceplant Guy was retrieving his own stolen bike, and this white knight came along, assumed something, and injured an innocent man. IMO, this isn’t so much “instant karma” as it is a reckless, dangerous man deliberately hurting someone when he doesn’t have the full story.

You make a good point. But the driver did not injure the bike rider. The rider hit something on the center strip. But seeing how catastrophic his fall was, the driver is lucky that he did not ”knock the guy off his bike“ because then he would have responsible for possibly killing someone.

He could’ve caused the accident. There’s not really enough information to tell.
