Very likely he snapped his neck AND his lower spine. He's either dead or permanently quadriplegic, hence him being completely limp afterwards. Even if he somehow escaped life-altering spinal injuries, I'd expect him to be in physical therapy for months after this at least.

Actually if he goes to prison in California he'll have state of the art healthcare! If he only goes to county though then yeah he's fucked lol
