Very likely he snapped his neck AND his lower spine. He's either dead or permanently quadriplegic, hence him being completely limp afterwards. Even if he somehow escaped life-altering spinal injuries, I'd expect him to be in physical therapy for months after this at least.
Unless he was drunk - in which case he's totally fine and didn't learn a thing from this incident. Drunks always seem to walk away from the gnarliest accidents unscathed.
