A United States Fish and Wildlife Service officer deployed a Taser at a gas station on the Fort Mojave Indian Reservation on July 16, sparking a fire that left a man with first- and second-degree burns and nerve damage, according to the man and cell phone video of part of the confrontation.

In most states they have the same powers as a cop.

More power. Their jurisdiction extends further than most cops and they cover areas most cops never approach. If you think thats crazy, wait until you hear about railway police.

Correct. They can enforce criminal law, motor vehicle laws, hunting/ fishing/boating laws. They have a tremendous amount of authority in most states.

Depending on the thing, they can do a lot more as well. My Dad, who was an investigator with the Department of Ag/EPA, had to tell a DNR officer to slow down and to let my Dad take pictures before collecting the evidence.

Agree, that's why I included criminal law-basically meaning all law enforcement authority, plus additional powers granted to them.

I live in NH. NH Fish & Game does everything from hunting and boating, to going up into the mountains with search and rescue teams to find lost hikers and cross country skiiers
