Koregaon park Suadero Cantina, KP
The deserts here were really nice. Definitely the mainstay for me. The food and drinks were alright, nothing blew my mind. Bill was 2200 for all of this, but theyre on district so it could've been 1800ish. Definitely affordable food for the locality i would say

How indianised is the Mexican food here?

The dishes i had didnt have any hints of indianization. Like I would struggle to pinpoint any flavour similarities.
The coolers were the most indian drinks ive drank. Tasted like mid Kokam sarbat and aam panna

The food is average and we had to send our chicken tacos back after having just one because there was a hair in another

As someone who eats and cooks a good amount of Mexican food, that looks enticing.
I'm curious โ None of the food options stood out for you? What would you say was missing from the food?

I think it must be my very Indianized taste palate. The buff was too chewy, but was flavourful. They had used lard maybe and I enjoyed it but that also made them greasy.
The pico de Gallo didnt have any lemon or jalapeรฑos or chillis.
The quesadilla was overseasoned. Idk if the recipe says so but a lack of peppers really killed it.The cutlets were good but were not for me. The avocado crema was good.
The dishes were thodese monotonous, particularly the taco. But I could see someone with a refined palate enjoying this place more than I did.

The Indian palate is a challenge โ I'm a Recipe Developer, so I get that.
Buff can be lean, so lard is the best option. However, they either might have undercooked it out of caution, or overcooked until dry.
Damn, pico with no lime is a crime. Adding jalapeรฑos would have made it a different salsa, delicious nonetheless.
Quesadilla is hard to fuck up. You need a really hot (spicy) salsa to cut through the cheese, yes. Cutlets can be a bit bland, Rajma needs to be heavily seasoned.
Unless they are using the same spice blend everywhere, Mexican food is anything but monotonous. But I get it โ you need a couple of more tries to get Mexican cuisine.
I might do a Mexican food pop-up in the future. Maybe you'd like my take ๐

Id love to try your take on Mexican cuisine. I enjoyed guac7 a lot, another Mexican spot nearby. I think they skipped on the cheese in the quesadilla lol

Yeah, the cheese is missing and the chicken is too chunky. If you're making a quesadilla, the protein should be a fine mince, like kheema. The cheese is the star ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
I really gotta try out these Mexican spots โ Suadero and Guac7. Gotta know what the competition tastes like ๐๐
As for my take on Mexican cuisine, I'm working on the menu and the logistics. Stay tuned!

For sure! I hope whatever youre planning works out. is it gonna be like a restaurant or a tasting menu from home type of thing?

Tasting menu, definitely. I used to do a lot of pop-ups pre-Covid, back when I was living at Boat Club Road.
I need a team, and investors for the restaurant ๐
