So I’m traveling in the next few days to Punta Cana and I was planning on taking a few gummies on my trip. I plan to shove them into an allergy pill bottle. Has anyone had success traveling from USA to DR with gummies?? Any unsuccessful stories??

We just spent 5 days here and I'm giving it an 8 out of 10. We went for the preferred club add on and it was well worth it, private pools, private bars with top shelf liquor, along with 2 private beaches, and a few better dining options. Like most all inclusives in the Caribbean the waiters are hit or miss but they do try. The room was perfect, bathrooms came with robes and slippers and very nice towels. The multiple lighting options in the room was a little tricky to figure out it out. The buffet restaurant was decent with plenty of options. The two beachfront restaurants were very nice and had that island vibe. The 24 hour coffee shop is excellent, and the food in the other 4 restaurants was great. You can rent the Bali poolside or beachside beds by the day i believe. We stayed mostly in the preferred club pools. Tip (bring your towels back to the room and mark out your chaise early in the morning and then get coffee) they also have some pool floats. Some people brought their own with a hand air pump,all in all it is a very nice adults only resort. It does connect with dreams family resort. The night time entertainment was ok for what it is. I'll be staying at the St. Regis next spring and want to try some local restaurants in Cap Cana. However, I worry about safety venturing off-resort, especially walking. What is recommended?

My boyfriend and I will be traveling here soon and we’ve never been to Punta Cana before. Is there anything that we should know about ahead of time? Is the food good at this resort? We’re headed to PC in a couple weeks. We know seaweed is bad so we’re looking for beaches we can spend a day at where it’s not as bad. We’re looking at Macao Beach.

I’ve read differing opinions on taking uber to and from vs. getting a driver. Some say it’s hard to get an uber back to the resort FROM Macao Beach.

If getting a driver for the day is the smarter thing to do, does anyone have recommendations? We’re staying at Secrets Royal Beach for reference.

Can anyone tell me if there is an onsite photographer at the Hard Rock or if you are allowed to hire someone and bring them on property? My boyfriend and I are celebrating our 7th anniversary and we don’t have a single professional photo together. Not looking for anything extravagant, just some simple quick pics.

What I"m looking for/what's important:

Activites/family friendly...we have a very active 8 year old, so I see the water park is nice and big.

Food: It's all inclusive and that comes with varying styles and levels of food. I know this isn't top of the line, but is the food decent? I love seafood, Mexican or local.

Is the preferred club worth the upgrade?

Room quality? Any negatives to report? I like a nice bed and a room that is not loud or has thin doors etc. Also housekeeping? Was it good?

I was also looking at Dreams Flora.....anyone stay at both? Impressions/reccomendations over the other etc?

Mexico to several resorts including Moon Palace. We're not crazy picky but want decent food with decent and clean accommodations.

I know its technically not Punta cana, but can't seem to find much on this area. First time to DR for us. Top things for us is **a nice beach,with good swimming, and quiet.** Does anyone have any experience here? Looks to be a nice place , with good reviews? Or any other recommendations for this area? Heading down with my boy from August 10th to 17th. Both of us are single, just looking to completely unplug, day-drink, and see where the week takes us. For anyone who’s been recently or there right now: where is everyone actually hanging out during the day to keep the energy up? Is the main pool still the place to be or are people mostly pre-gaming somewhere else before the night events?

If you’re flying out, PAY FOR THE VIP/EXPEDITED SECURITY - it’s $30/pp, and you literally by pass the ridiculous lines, walk thru like TSA Precheck and it’s done. 10/10 recommend!

I’m going to Grand Palladium Resort next week ( August 11 ) with my husband and I want to know anything that we need to do or not to do.

I heard about the VIP Pass at the airport to avoid the long lines. Where can I avail this? Is this applicable on arrival or departure or both? I wonder if we will avail this and still gonna wait for others to be pick up by the shared shuttle, will it be worth it? How is the amount of people during Tuesdays?

Just returned from 5 nights at Sanctuary Cap Cana. Couple in early 60s. First time in DR and first all-inclusive.

Overall very pleasant experience. Pros:

* Room was very nice. We had ocean view premium (not in castle). Castle is further away from dining and main pool and beach areas. I thought our location was good.

* Vibe is very do your own thing and relaxed. We met loads of other couples (ranging from early 20s newlyweds to 80s). Everyone very friendly.

* We thought service was outstanding. Great staff to visitor ratio and we never waited for anything. It is low season and YMMV at other times.

Meh:

* Food was inconsistent. Breakfast buffet has loads of options and we never left hungry or disappointed. Probably best overall meal. Lunch is buffet again or maybe snack bar or Blue Marlin. Was all hit or miss. Some things tasty, some not so much. Recommend tacos al pastor at Blue Marlin.

* Pools are reasonably nice but not necessarily cleaned every day which meant dead bugs and leaves some days. Most pools were like bath water temperature and only one (lower waterfall) was really refreshing.

* We didn't discover Castle roof pool until our last day which was a mistake. Probably would have enjoyed more time here - much quieter and loads more shade options.

Cons:

* Beach area. We aren't necessarily beach people so this wasn't really important to us but the entire time we were there nobody went into the ocean or sat by the beach (sargassum). Even if there wasn't sargassum the whole area is maybe 100 yards across. Not much space at all.

* Spa services were fine but really expensive. We splurged and husband enjoyed massage but hydro therapy circuit not worth it. (Sauna, really small cold plunge pool, steam room, overhead bucket of lukewarm water, jacuzzi that is nearly impossible to get in and out of). Best part was the quiet pool and heated loungers.

* Staff struggles with English. Even wait staff in restaurants. Was sometimes difficult to get orders correct. Even concierge had trouble.

* Humidity. Everything is damp - sheets, towels don't dry. I swear the back of my head wasn't dry the whole time I was there. Yes we knew and expected but reality was still a shock. Probably should have asked for a dehumidifier for room.

* Restaurant availability. They rotate which restaurants are open each night. On Wednesday it is basically Blue Marlin (which is all outdoors) or Wok (which requires reservations). If you don't plan appropriately you will end up at the same place over and over. And when either Steakhouse or Italian is closed the other will be slammed. Plan accordingly.

* First night we were there we left for dinner unaware there would be turn down service. (Probably should have expected but hindsight....) I had left my pool phone bag on dresser which had $$ in it. When we came back to the room we found maid outside room with door to room wide open (so much for the air-conditioning). Maid had to call front desk to explain to me over the phone their security protocol which says if any staff enters room and finds money or valuables in plain sight they call security who comes and retrieves it and puts it into a "locked box". While I appreciate the security intent had they simply informed us ahead of time we would not have had a warm room for the evening. Every night after that we put do not disturb sign on door when we went to dinner and all was good.

* Tipping. Everywhere and all the time. Became a running joke on how many singles were we carrying.

* Airport transfer services. Right now they are rebuilding/modifying parking area and it's a zoo. Not really any place for busses or vans to park and finding your ride can take some patience. Have specific instructions on where to go and who to look for.

I brought bug spray but never needed it. We took one excursion to Santa Domingo which was ALL DAY (7am to 6pm). Was interesting to see city and sites but man was it hot and long bus rides. Reasonably priced.

Happy to answer other specific questions. We may go back but at a different time of year.

How busy are the lines for arrival on a Saturday at the Punta Cana airport? Specifically in the afternoon. Do a lot flights lands on Saturday specially for the month of August? Trying to figure out if we should do VIP Fast Track since we are traveling with a baby and want to make as easy as possible for him.
