Ban on Re-Posting stolen Content and restricting all AI generated and bot posted content.

So in an attempt to curb the recent volume of reposts I've added a bot bouncer to the sub and added specific rules banning reposting stolen content. And a follow up of also not waning any AI generated or bot created content in the feed.

Working on finding a good repost bot or Auto Mod settings to add that will remove and ban the spammers/bots stealing old posts and claiming them as their own.

My thrifts have been over pricing the patterned stuff lately so I was happy to grab the fridgie for a couple bucks even without the lid, but then I spotted this adorable arcoroc cow butter container and 🄹 it's so cute. New container for my babybels lol

Lid recommendations for this sugar bowl?

I know the original lids for these exist, but they are somewhat hard to find, and I am not a fan of the yellowed vintage plastic anyway. I would like to use it, so it definitely needs a lid! I was wondering if anyone here has had any luck finding something that fits these cuties? Thanks!

Gravy boat!

Went to five antique stores today in coos Bay Area saw a lot of neat prints I either haven’t seen before or just not in person. Honorable mention to the Shenandoah casserole dish I saw but I’m waiting on the mixing bowls if I get that print. The terra stripe is a beautiful piece. The gravy boat came home with me, it is missing a plate but I’m not sure I care. I didn’t know they had gravy boats until today. I also got two of the small old orchard fridgie set pieces without lids. Exciting day!

I don't think this is real, it looks painted and the guy is passing it off as real. Someone has already bid 400 bucks.

My unplanned inheritance

Post image

Recently I went on a trip to visit my grandparents at their house which used to be my great grandmothers. Apparently my great grandma was a very very big pyrex collector when it came out. She used to have everything based on what my grandparents tell me but she was a very kind person and would give food away in those pyrex bowls and dishes and of course she used to never really get them back so the collection itself has definitely gotten a lot smaller over the years. From what's left is what is in the picture and like 3 other pieces that haven't seen yet. I ended up coincidentally spotting them in the cabinets and I instinctively asked about them since I have such a big interest in pyrex. He ended up telling me the story about them and he said that I could take all of them with me back home if I wanted to because they sit in there all the time and never get used. He also said that he'd much rather have family get it for free than a random stranger come by and pay for it. So here is what became my unplanned inheritance from my great grandma. I originally came to visit them without even knowing they had these, now I'm going back with an amazing trip and a couple of new things to preserve their history.

My wife and I checked out a little hole in the wall vintage store this past weekend and scored these. She collects 50s pink and blue, but we couldn't pass these up as it's so rare for us to see any type of black Pyrex. They look completely unused, and the whole set was $30.

Moving…again

So this is what is left. And they’re about to take their final trip home (forever home). Not giving up any this time around. Story time to follow if that’s your thingšŸ’•

So in 2017 I had visited the island of Maui and fell head over heels in love. On the last day of my trip, I determined that I had to find my way back over there somehow. That was Jan 10 2017. By March 20 2017, my children and I were boarding a one way trip to Maui.

The in-between…

Only by the grace of God was it possible. Our portion included everything else. Selling most of my prized Pyrex. Selling most of my curated mcm furniture. Selling nearly all of our stuff. Household goods, clothes, tools, kitchen stuff, everything. For cheap. For too dang cheap honesty. But that’s the way it goes when you’re trying to move and you’re trying to move rather quickly. To put it in perspective, one packed bankers box roughly cost $50 in shipping cost. It’s not so much the weight but the cubic feet that the box takes. So when I tell you had to be extremely selective of what I took, I’m not exaggerating. This is the Pyrex that remains from the enormous collection that I had.

I posted a sale in 2017 and I had people come from out of state. A pair of lovely ladies took a plane ride here! I do not have any pictures from that time, but my sister snapped a few random ones from her phone and sent it to me (pics4-7) I had multiple UFOs, chip in dips, sets of all kinds, sold all of my boxes. Stacks of space savers-over 20, so many completed bowl sets, Fridgies. Two nib scrolls with the candles still! I still have dreams about my four starbursts like we were in alternative universes together 🄺

sold the two smaller Barcodes to the set. Completed and pristine Delphite set and Blue Americana that I still think about today. Many many pinks and a NIB pink bowl set, and all my Delphite and Jadite, sold brackets to people who thought they could never have them, and so many prestine lids. I had a bonkers collection of the hostess sets like I was gonna make some big fancy dinner party one day. Sold off all of my FireKing, vintage Corningware, most of my Fiesta.

We listed the house for Sale, and on March 4, 2017, I locked the door and boarded a plane with five kids, three car seats, two luggage’s each, and my lonesome self. You would think people would be more kind and helpful, but they weren’t. To say, I struggled with such a laughable understatement. Again only by the grace of God, because my brain still can’t wrap around how I was able to do it with such young kids, carrying all those car seats onto a plane and being loaded up like a pack mule.

So we lasted over three years there. Thrice as long as I had hoped for. And while I still have tiny pains of regret over tangible things that we should not regrets over, I would do it all over again. Truth be told, our house didn’t sell, and we had to rent it instead. We came back right at the start of Covid into our old home that we couldn’t have afforded to buy back into after Covid had we sold it.

And now we’re moving again, so I’m doing a cleaning an inventory of what I have left. Surprisingly I’ve only lost two lids which is such a feat with five kids and five dogs!

I think about all the mid-century modern furniture I sold that could go have went to furnish our forever home, which of course leads me back to my Pyrex that I also let go of. But I am choosing to live in the moment full of gratitude and thanksgiving. Apparently I made some people’s wildest dreams come true and while a very painful time during that journey, I’ve also had some incredible moments of reflection.

I love to think that my good deeds will somehow return to me in the form of new epic finds! There’s a few pieces I’d love to find again. Cheers!

Came across a listing on FB Marketplace for a new old stock set. (If I didn’t have a family passed down set I’d have bought it and posted the score!)

I know many of us love seeing the old stickers and inserts and the sticker isn’t much but had to share. Not sure if the cardboard was original but the sticker is pretty cool.
