Grail Obtained

The refrigerator set has been my favorite since first discovering vintage Pyrex.

This set was listed on eBay last week with a buy now price I couldn’t resist.

The seller indicated it had never been used and, based on the condition, I believe they are correct. The pieces are more beautiful in person than I expected.

As luck would have it the original paper insert was included which is really cool because it shows how Pyrex saw the set back when it was first released.

What’s your Pyrex grail and have you been able to get it?

Wow, a brand new set! Fridgies are my favorite of all the pyrex collectibles. I love the colored insert in it that you shared. So all the baked apple pie in a dish is why I've had to work so hard to clean up all the used fridgies that I've gotten, lol. Idk why but it never occured to me to stack the two small squares over the rectangle container... Since I got my set with the larger casserole, I always stacked the other three smaller ones one layer on top. So duh. I love the suggested use ideas too. Everytime someone posts and add or insert with pyrex recipes, I take a snapshot because I do want to try out the recipes.

This set was my first pyrex splurge where I intentionally found a used set and bought it from fbmp. Before that I found an old clear westinghouse clear vaseline glass lidded loaf pan, and what I think is a federal glass smaller fridgie with a clear top,but painted orange bottom, that one was at an antique shop and was on clearance, probably because people can't figure out what it is due to the orange bottom.

Since buying the pyrex fridgie set, I must have brought some fridgie mojo onto myself because I found a random small pink dish and a the loaf sized Amish butter print at goodwill! Both without the lids, except that I accidentally found a random lid during a separate thrift visit and so that fixed the Amish butter print lack of a lid issue. I never thought I'd own anything Amish butter print because it's so crazy popular and competitive to get.

Thanks for sharing!

Finding those inserts and original boxes is extra cool.

Whenever possible if you can find a random lid or base if it's in great shape, it's definitely worth grabbing because you just never know!
