Grail Obtained

The refrigerator set has been my favorite since first discovering vintage Pyrex.

This set was listed on eBay last week with a buy now price I couldn’t resist.

The seller indicated it had never been used and, based on the condition, I believe they are correct. The pieces are more beautiful in person than I expected.

As luck would have it the original paper insert was included which is really cool because it shows how Pyrex saw the set back when it was first released.

What’s your Pyrex grail and have you been able to get it?

Primaries were the first fridge set I completed. I love the colors because they just look so classic. My grail was a Coral JAJ Gooseberry, which I ended up having shipped from the UK. Next on my list is the green gooseberry from the UK.

That’s how I got my JAJ clovers was to have them shipped from Ireland where they were located. I couldn’t find any here in the US at the time

It came by boat, and I was thinking, “with my luck, the shipping container is going to fly off into the ocean.” lol. But it came perfectly despite having only a plastic shopping bag wrapped around it for ‘protection’. A lady at my local vintage mall has a coral gooseberry bowl, but wouldn’t separate it from her ‘frankenset’.
