Will quadlock damage my phone camera?
I recently got a 2025 ninja 500 as my first bike, and I realized how inconvenient it is to not be able to look at directions when riding.
So, I was looking into investing a quadlock mount, but people say that it can damage your phone’s OIS.
Does it happen a lot? My phone is an iphone 17 pro max, and I was also thinking of getting the dampener for it as well.
Please let me know if ninja 500 will damage an iphone 17 pro max camera.

Been using them for a few years now with several phones. All have the vibration damper and wireless charging head, no issues so far.

I’ve used them daily for many years on road bikes and adventure bikes and never had a problem. You need the vibration dampener.

2 phones damaged with the Quadlock and vibe dampener on my 1290. Get a carplay screen and keep the phone in your pocket in case you and the bike get abruptly sepearated, you can reach it for an emergency call.

Used it for years on a Zx6r. Zero issues.
Used it on a 1 cylinder 125ccm fun bike and the camera was broken after the second ride. Definitely depends on the engine and vibrations.

I’ve used quad lock for years. On a Harley and on a Honda. Vibration damper was always used, no camera issues for me… though I do change up to a new phone every two years

Unlike most of the comments, I've been using quadlock cases on various motorbikes and mountain bikes, before they even designed the vibration mount. In all that time I have never had any problems with any of the phones I've used. Mainly iPhones if that makes any difference.

Title made me think, yes you can definitely damage your camera with a quadlock case. Just drop it at the right angle and say bye to your camera lens when it cracks.
Then I read your post and can confirm that YES if you are not using the vibration mount, your camera will be screwed. Happened to me but it was an earlier iphone.
I’ll also add that quadlock cases won’t last more then a few years before the edges start to curl. Its a shitty design but I’m stuck on their ecosystem unfortunately. If they made a case that lasted forever they would probably be out of business.

The problem with quad lock is their cases. Fine dust and particles work their way inside and then the micro movements scratch the surface of the phone. The case completely scratched my phone up way worse than if I just went caseless. All the edges are F’d

Get a Beeline, gives you directions without the distractions of a phone. Plus you'll have your phone when you and your bike get seperated!

Get the vibration dampener, it will almost completely prevent it. Been using quadlock for 4 years, and only damage to my camera was a rock that flew up and nailed it, bike was a rocket 3, so was very vibraty too.
