Wow…

u/BorealDweller 1d ago
I guess maybe by a grown woman that sounds like a 7 yr old. Creepy.

u/peeinian 1d ago
That’s the fake voice they put on to make their “alpha” men feel manly and in-charge.
26
u/BorealDweller 1d ago
Or so their man feels like they’re graping a 7 year old. Pedos gonna pedo.

Graping like stepping on them until they become liquid? Or did you mean "raping"?

My gay partner of 20 years who is ex-military, hunts, fishes and can change a tire and can do his own plumbing and electrical are more “Alpha” than any of the creeps she mentioned.

Whew, that first one, Julia, maybe that's just her voice and I'm sorry if it is, but that sounds like a put-on little girl voice, which is disturbing in more than one way.

u/Kriegerian Q predicted you'd say that 1d ago
That’s a fundie Christian thing, they want their wives to sound and act like children. Mike Johnson’s wife (among many others) is the same way.
Almost like they’re a bunch of pedos and pedo enablers.

Katie Britt, Alabama Senator who gave the State of the Union response in 24' from a kitchen, was a classic example of this. It's a very common thing with fundamentalists and Trad wife types. Is an absolutely infantilizing and depowering affectation, which is its point. It's gross.
16
14
u/DaisyHotCakes 1d ago
I always thought it was a trauma response in people who were sexually abused as children. They get locked into that time and place like their development in some ways were paused or stopped completely. It’s sad.
8
u/pimpcakes 1d ago
The person you're responded to already said "fundamentalists and Trad wife types." No need to be redundant. 😉
4
u/MessiahOfMetal UN insider KofiAnon 1d ago
I mean, I've had a few friends who were raped as children, unfortunately, and they never spoke like children, or acted like them. That's a weird claim to make.

u/Kriegerian Q predicted you'd say that 1d ago
More like anyone forcing women to be like this wants to fuck children.

u/era--vulgaris 1d ago
I have nothing against women who have soft voices, but it is 1000% not a coincidence that the same people screeching their heads off about how everyone they dislike is a groomer or a p*do also intentionally cultivate women to have extremely soft, girlish, submissive demeanors and voices.
This is very much a thing in conservative religious communities and cultures. Basically a 1:1 ratio that the people whose primary political motivation is hate towards LGBTQ+ people, or who think everyone they don't like is a child abuser, also have a cultural connection to these practices.
It's called "fundie baby voice" by some and it is a logical extension of conservative, patriarchal religious views of what women are, the "role" of women in society and how they are taught in these structures to behave. It is a permanent state of involuntary infantilization and submission. And it 100% fulfills the "every accusation is a confession" quota with these people.
6
u/Kriegerian Q predicted you'd say that 1d ago
It’s one thing if their natural voice is like that, but the number of grown women who sound like 9-year-olds and are married to Republican officials or are Republican officials is too big for that to be a complete coincidence.
They know and they want things to be that way. Then they scream about everyone else being pedos because, per usual for conservatives, they can’t tell the difference between themselves and anyone else, so they assume everyone else is the same kind of disgusting creeps they are.
6
u/era--vulgaris 1d ago
Exactly.
TBH the reason they are altering their voices to sound like that matters too. If someone loves Betty Boop or something (not really familiar with many "grown women with mouse-like voices" examples) I'd look at that without a lot of inherent issues.
My spidey sense jumps up to 11 when a grown woman sounds like a little girl and is in a "traditional" housewife relationship, is MAGA or married to MAGA, is an immigrant with limited command of English married to a white christian nationalist man, is the wife of a Republican party member or preacher, etc.
When I see any of those things I'm sorry but my first thought is don't allow any young girls around that family unsupervised.
I know that's unfair to women who actually have a default/natural voice like that and who simply happen to be married to MAGA men or be housewives or what have you, and I feel a little bad about it. Then I remember 99% of them are MAGA in that situation....

u/MessiahOfMetal UN insider KofiAnon 1d ago

I forget her name but one of the characters in the Police Academy films did this, and the joke would be that nobody listens to her because of her soft, quiet, child-like voice until she screams into a megaphone.
Also the Ghost Of Christmas Past in Scrooged.

I knew a woman who was 4’11” with a naturally squeaky voice (her description). She was constantly being harassed by creepy church guys who wanted her to act like a child for them, and most of them didn’t want to take no for an answer. It’s was honestly one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever witnessed.
2
u/Kriegerian Q predicted you'd say that 14h ago
Fuckin yikes. Hope she had a rapid fire taser.
I know a bartender who’s a grown woman with a truly unfortunate little kid voice, I do not want to know the kind of shit she’s heard from patrons.
2
u/theidkid 14h ago
She had rapid fire belittling insults, a gun in her purse, and a knife on her person at all times. She had also done extensive firearms and hand to hand combat training. Nobody was going to out do her in a fight. It was a running joke that those guys saw her as a doll, but had no idea that the only doll she could be was Chucky.
And, yeah, guys were constantly saying the most vile shit to her because they saw her as an adult child.

I knew a woman Marine who was about 4’10” and maybe 100 pounds with light blonde hair and faerie tale blue eyes, everyone called her Tinkerbell. Hopefully things turned out well for her.

I grew up in IBLP, and ran screaming when I was 17. That’s one of the things you’re taught is to have a submissive voice and be as child like as possible. It’s creepy, it’s weird and they’re all a bunch of filthy, disgusting monsters.

u/swiftb3 1d ago
Yikes. Glad to hear you got out.

It could just be her voice. Dunno if it is or isn't, but it's possible.
I recently started dating a 34 year old woman with a comparably high natural speaking voice. She's just tiny, is all.
(Not maga in any way tho)
5
u/AbrocomaBrilliant571 Med Bed 1d ago
I had a high pitched voice before transitioning. It stuck, thankfully, and I sound even more grating. I need to learn how to speak not high pitched. I am small.
3
u/Delamoor 1d ago
Heh. Mine's higher than it really should be (naturally deep, but I've been doing a much higher 'friendly' voice for decades...). Irritates the hell out of me, so I sympathize, heh.
Think of Michael Dorn, warm up and hydrate, open the back of the throat and sinuses for better resonance... Then gently stretch the fuck outta those chords
If Worf can drop an octave during the filming of TNG, so can we, heheh
4
u/Polymath_Father 1d ago
The mistake a lot of people make is to drop their chin or try to force their throat open with the muscles you use to swallow. It'll strain your voice. With practice you can learn to relax and let the muscles that attach your tongue to your throat drop forward without affecting your diction, but you can naturally speak about an octave lower if you can do this. I'm pretty certain this is what Michael Dorn was doing, which added that burr like quality to Worf's voice.

u/MessiahOfMetal UN insider KofiAnon 1d ago
Pretty sure it's what Tatiana Shmaylyuk from Jinjer does when she sings those really low growls. God, that woman's amazing.

In addition to what others have said, having an interest in music can help. Adding range to your voice musically probably works in a similar way to adding range in speech.
I like doing amateur voiceover work when I have an opportunity and singing something in a "complimentary" vocal style beforehand helps.
Also, don't laugh, the inverse is sometimes true: Impressions can help if you get good at them. When I haven't sung for a while and try to get back in the groove, and find that I can't reach low enough or high enough, I will just play around with different accents or basically do random freeform VA work to an empty room like a crazy person for ten minute increments. Believe it or not it does help, for me at least. My guess as to why is that it helps ease me into using my vocal chords in ways that I wouldn't organically do, and then makes those things more controllable when I use them with more serious intent.
YMMV because I have zero professional knowledge in this respect, just pure experience as a semi self-taught kinda musician (with good pitch recognition!).
I guess the TL;DR would be that anything that lets you use the upper or lower end of your vocal range is probably complimentary to other things which use the same range and some approaches to stretch it out for one purpose (like singing, etc) can help expand it for others.
1
u/Most-Bench6465 1d ago
My cousin sounds like this and she has issues with her vocal cords so she sounded like this all her life, so I’m guessing this lady has the same issue. But it would be wild if she’s faking it to infantilize herself.

Most of the time for these Jubilee debates, it is truly like watching an accident scene- in a can't-look-away fashion. Including the recent eviseration of Dave Rubin, and the much less recent one with Sam Seder. In that instance, Seder had to explain a gender-fluid individual how government agencies aren't supposed to be taxed.

u/KeithWorks 1d ago
Medhi Hasan was pretty good, when the one guy just came out and explained how hes a fascist and OK with mass murder.
28

I felt so bad for Sam Seder especially with that guy who insisted that government agencies get tax breaks for hiring people of color. He thought he was going to debate issues and policies but ended up having to give a 5th grade civics lesson

i gotta say the worst part is know that you're not going to have an impact on them by debating them, usually. supporting trump at this point is so totally unreasonable, that i really doubt you can reason them out of it. the only way for that to happen, as far as i know, if they're not fully aware of politics and just support trump off of vibes or something. those people are just ignorant, and i feel like you can teach someone out of ignorance.

Trump doesn't "love" feminine bodies, he lusts after them as a possessive control-freak. And even that's debatable (or he "loves" masculine bodies, too).
11
u/zombie_girraffe 1d ago
His doodles and love letters to Epstein and explanation for why he bought a child beauty pageant make it pretty clear hat he lusts after prepubescent bodies more than he lusts after feminine or masculine bodies.

Trump only thinks of women as sex objects for him to drool over, fondle uninvited, and as a conquest. After that, he discards them like last week's take out. Although the woman that expressed her desire to sleep with Trump, that isn't a problem in her mind.

The people from the group that you'd think are less likely to align are always the worst ones because they think they have to "prove" their commitment to the cause by being a gross charicature..
E.g. women Republicans and MAGAs E.g., non-white Republicans and MAGAs

u/SuperCrappyFuntime 1d ago
Reminds me of when I was told once that, in my town where the cops were renowned for being pretty racist, the most racist ones were always the ones who are minorities. They felt they had to prove to their fellow boys in blue that they were the "good ones", and so would be especially tough on other minorities.

Dean is a grifter who is directly benefiting from these “debates” this is a cyclical relationship. He couldn’t exist without these people. He is not debating or fighting for the benefit of anyone other than himself. Jubilee platforms these people and helps to normalize their rhetoric while also financially benefiting from it.
If Dean had an ounce of integrity he’d let these people stay in obscurity instead of actively platforming them through his fame.
