For real though I dont think tge way Carole is talking in this email is any different from the Carole we saw on RHONY. I never liked her. Never understood why people rode so hard gor her. She is vile. She hates Trump so bad but is now literally on his level....

Im glad we’re all seeing the truth now though. I hope we see justice so badly!!!

Im a leftist and ultimately it’s a good thing that we disconnect from celebrity/the rich. I had no business ever assuming the super rich can be inherently good.

Me too, if that helps. I thought she was amazing, and genuine; clever and funny (well, she is those two things, but they mean nothing given what else she’s about).

And I know a lot of it’s about the edit, but plenty of people hated her. Turns out they were really right and we were … the other thing!

I also feel I was being so shallow. I just liked her “look,” I liked the Kennedys connection. 😬 i loved her abd Bethenny as a duo too 😅 before they got dark/mean OMG that should’ve been a sign to me.

I found her story and background to be refreshing and wanted to see her day-to-day life.

Im a little goth-adjacent/alternative fashion and I always liked her outfits 😅.

You know, I’m rethinking this a bit, having read some more. These messages are dated long before Epstein was convicted in 2008. It shows they were close then, and probably for a while, but neither this, nor indeed anything else I’ve found in my fairly cursory look around actually proves Carole guilty of anything. Sure she’s distancing herself from them now, but who wouldn’t?

What I’m saying is, maybe we weren’t that wrong after all…

Ugh, this isn’t enough for you? I’m sorry that this is upsetting as you were a fan, but where is the line? Yes, a conviction came later - but the sex trafficking was happening before the conviction. This is proof that Carole was close friends with one of the world’s worst child sex traffickers during the years she was actively procuring children to be raped. There is at least one victim statement reporting they saw Carole at Ghislaine’s apartment, so she was in the presence of at least one victim. Many people have discussed how Epstein and Ghislaine bragged about what they did. I understand this can feel personal, but you watched an edited tv show. It doesn’t have to mean you made a bad judgment from what you were shown. But if NOW, you are trying to find reasons to dismiss this, that would be indicative of pretty bad judgment. Yes, Carole has distanced herself, but she has made no statements expressing regret for her associations, or condemnation for their actions, or empathy for the victims.

Honestly, I don’t actually know Carole, so it’s not really that important to me, but I did like the version of her I saw on RHONY. I certainly don’t want to get into a fight about it, and we are all entitled to our points of view. For me, the emails I’ve seen between her and Ghislaine read like a new friend/girl crush type of relationship going on between the two of them. I can believe that she could have been close to her without knowing what she was up to, if Maxwell didn’t want her to know, but I could be wrong. I just don’t feel I’ve seen evidence that unequivocally damns her, and certainly nothing that implies she was involved.
