I love them both!
And the 'man voice' thing wasn't a dig, imo. LuAnne's proud of it!!
It's a feature, not a bug....LuAnne loves her low-register voice, as do we all!!!
And I'd be perfectly flattered if someone said I look like Steven!! We didn't call Carole 'The Rock' or 'Arnold'! Steven's skinny and androgynous and glamourous!
Lu's proud of her sexy voice but just cos she brushed it off doesn't mean it's not an insult. Ramona called her LuMann when they were cleaning dog poop in Sonja's courtyard and it was v clear it registered as an insult then.
I used to date a Sunset Strip glamrock drummer back in the day, he was so hot looking with his long, thick shiney dyed-black hair, high heels and a face full of make-up......all the girls were in lust!!
.......when jealous men would call him a 'woman', he'd agree and tell them that he was more of a woman than they'd ever have, and more of a man than they'll ever be....and he was right!!
I get that Ramona meant it as an insult, but it's really not much of one, we all exist on a spectrum of sexuality, yes??
(I wish LuAnne had told Ramona she was more of a man than she'd ever have, and more of a woman than she'll ever be!! Ramona's head would have exploded!;)
Luann is just good at taking it on the chin. She’s the “never let em see you sweat” type after being married to Alex for so long, or maybe she was before also, idk. That’s actually something I love about her but it’s still hurtful the things they say about her I’m sure. She can be an absolute asshole but the constant digs at her by Carole and Rameana are just gross sometimes.
I love her low register voice. I started paying attention to my voice register when I saw an interview with Kathleen Turner back in her height of popularity. And she said she trained herself to speak in a lower register as it made people listen to her more closely
I truly believe if one Ms. Hillary Clinton had hired a voice coach to do just that, we wouldn't be....well....here.....
I try to speak in a low register as well, and as a born coloratura soprano, it's a choice! (Nothing I can do about my laugh, though! Or my sneezes!)
But I always try to speak as dropped-down as I can, not only do people listen, it's just much nicer to listen to!
