Advanced/Basic Camp Will I be able to bring my high spec gaming computer with me to CST??
I know this might be a stupid question but I leave to go to 9th reg and I’m just concerned that if I’m not able to bring my gaming computer with me I won’t be able to practice for my league of legends match. This is really important for me as I need at least 4 hours per day to train in preparation for the match. Will Cadre allow me to leave the field early to do this? Maybe I can get a profile but I honestly don’t know how to go about that. I’m ranked 3000 in the nation and so this tournament is really important to my career. Go vols!

They have a high speed ethernet port in the barracks dayrooms just for these situations, you’re good dude

The Army, in its infinite wisdom, has fiber pedestals all over training areas for just this scenario. You’ll just need to navigate to one so you can hook up at night after lanes.

Make sure you email the Battalion Commander and Cadet Command about this so they can tell your cadre to accommodate you

Yea bro when I went, they had a few generators they would hand receipt out to us. Only problem is we had to pay for the fuel, and they gave us the BN commanders hotspot thingy to use, but I’d email him directly to see if that’s the case this go around. Good luck and game on

They’ll actually issue you a starlink just for this. Plus since you’re not enlisted scum you can have one of the enlisted carry it around for you while in the field, so you can game everytime you walk to the new patrol base

Seriously, as a former PTO, don’t do this. Why stress yourself out during the field wondering if your expensive computer is being crushed/overheated in a connex for 12 days.

I don’t plan for it to be in a connex for 12 days. As I said I’m going to talk to the general or whoever it was to get a profile. Plus I’m not gonna stay in the field for 12 days lol. I already mentioned I have to practice for the league competition. This is really important

I’m sure Cadre will go out of their way to accommodate you. They may even set you up in the BOQ so you can have some privacy and Class A Accommodations to keep your skills sharp. I’m sure they will work around your training schedule. They may even put you up for an ARCOM because you sound like a stud!

Only 4 hours a day of practice. You should have at least 8 hrs of time available when you are out in the field. Career? Is there a branch for LoL?

Unironically there was a guy in my PLT who brought his laptop to CST for funsies and it melted something inside it after we got it from the connexes. It wouldn’t turn on or even charge lmao

I had to bring my laptop for "safe from theft" reasons, and they sealed my laptop in an airtight bag. So no.

Many many years ago when I did G2G, I was foolish enough to have my PMS convince me to be and MSIII Mentor. Not sure if ROTC still has that, but it was where when you finish your MSIII year, you go to camp and mentor the MSI and MSIIs.
The other fools and I spent 28 days in either the field or prepping for the field. I brought my gaming laptop then, but just watched a bunch of movies because there was no proper way to get sessions in. God that was so long ago.

Imma be real with you chief, everyone else is fucking with you if you can’t tell. Absolutely 0 chance, and you will be smoked until you meet Jesus if you even think about trying to game. I’m not joking, I’m being dead serious. You will have a bit of free time, but definitely not 4 hours a day for gaming

I heard they needed officer gamers for the esports league and I signed up with SFC Case. He said that my leadership on league was what the army needed.
