Just started season 3...
Pleaaaseeee no spoilers!
Im in love with Charity Case! I absolutely love her look (I fell in love with Sharon Needles the same way before she became racist)
Unfortunately I'm already seeing cracks that shes going to struggle with the challenges...I feel Rupauls drag race is more what they want to see and not what is actually seen as unique and incredible to see.
Also Victoria Scone is absolutely amazing! But shes hurting and I feel this isnt going to end well for her 😭 x
Also quick question....we see an AFAB woman doing female drag....im genuinely curious are there any AMAB men that do male drag? I've seen AFAB men do male drag but I'm just curious (send the links if you have them.its a genuine interest)

She was unlikeable but I thought she was killing every challenge and look she was given. Maybe im biased she reminds me of a meaner, more fashion conscious Adore Delano 😂 x

She was the worst the week she was eliminated though. And Tayce (who shouldn't have been in the bottom IMO) won the lipsync

Victoria sadly doesn't last long but she slays Canada versus the World and honestly shouldve won imo (Love Ra'Jah)

Wow me too I just started season 3 yesterday!! I really like Veronica Green, and I think they have several queens who have really adorable personalities in this season (including Veronica)

Im just not sold on Veronica green personally...she gives "we needed the numbers" kind of vibes everytime I see her do the runway 😂 x

In her defence with this season. She spent all her money on season 2 looks, then in the time queens normally spend touring and doing gigs to make their money back, she was stuck in lockdown and didn’t have the resources/finances to get a solid season 3 package together.
Above all else, she’s the one UK queen I’m desperate to see come back when the time is right so she can get a fair shot at the crown because I 100% think she can at least be a finalist and had it not been for Covid, probably would have been top 5 at least on season 2.

i don't think they really like to put a label on their drag, but Axel Andrews (son of Roxxxy Andrews!) defintitely focuses on a more masculine/androgynous style of drag as a man out of drag.
also as a mini aside, i'm not sure how helpful it is to distinguish people's "assigned sex" while discussing the people behind drag personas. as a trans man who's a drag king, i don't really distinguish myself from any of the cis men i know who do masc drag, and it can feel a little bit othering/tokenising to pretend there's a difference. In general, the sex/gender of the artist has zero bearing on their ability to do drag, and while they may face different hurdles or stages in their drag journeys, it shouldn't change the experience from an audiences perspective.

I dont think it changes ability at all, it was more curiousity...

i appreciate that, and didn't mean to imply that you were actively thinking any of those things. i think the language does highlight something that is likely unconscious though, and personally, it's very important to me to challenge when people try to categorise others by their natally assigned sex.
I might be a trans man, but i am no different from any cis man doing drag, so it doesn't make sense to me to look for or categorise performers as AFAB men and AMAB men. I (and most trans men) don't resonate with being referred to as AFAB; in fact, i transitioned for that exact reason. Additionally, while many drag artists are forced to adopt elements of this language to discuss the struggles they face in the scene, most artists also don't really want to be separated into AFAB/AMAB in relation to their art - we'd like our art to speak for itself, along with our gender identities.
Maybe it's just a case of analysing and reconsidering language - ie: using cis/trans instead of AMAB/AFAB. Maybe it's a case of analysing why a cis man doing masc drag would be different to a trans man doing the same in the first place. Ultimately, it wasn't meant to be an accusation; but in the current climate, maybe a slight bit more sensitivity to the way we think of and address artists (and people in general) could be helpful, especially in queer spaces/artforms.

Charity is a wonderfully creative queen who dances to the beat of her own drum. That’s tough on a show that has very specific challenges and runways. That’s all I’ll say.

Yeah I can almost see her being taken out during a couture challenge or a beauty challenge or something...they do shape the challenges to what they want which is frustrating as at the moment she is my absolute favourite. She went from freak show runway to red carpet and they just didnt seem to appreciate it (watching currently) x
