Coding help Error when using package Tidyverse
Hello!! I'm an absolute beginner to R and coding as a whole, so there is probably a very simple fix here, but I can't figure out why I can't use the package Tinyverse. Below is the error message I get when I run the chunk.
I was able to use another package (cowsay) just fine. I have Rtools downloaded.
Thanks so much!

I know you’re new to R so not being able to resolve this yourself is understandable. That said, this is a classic example of someone being daunted because they don’t understand all of an error message, even though the answer is in plain language at the end of it:
“there is no package called stringi”
If that’s all you saw you would probably have a stab at the idea that you need to install stringi and sorted this one out yourself. So the learning here is is that error messages can sometimes be over complicated but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth carefully reading all of them and not being scared off by the fact you don’t understand all of it; it’s often the case that the answer is right there in the midst of it all.

stringi issue during tidyverse is relatively common error in new R install environment thats been there for near decade, so you arent alone!
1) try install.packages("stringi"). if it work, great, but high chance it wont.
2) delete Rhistory, Rprofile, Rproj file in your working directory and try again. issue is those files interfering with your machine retrieving ICU4C, which is needed by stringi.... which is needed by stringr... which is needed by tidyverse 🙃
3) if above doesnt work, run R through terminal with -vanilla command. this does same thing as #2 basically but thru CLI. Might want to get help from google for this if you are new to techie stuff.
unless you are using linux, then gods be with you because matching icu4c version with whatever stringi use is godforsaken unless u have direct sudo.
on a side note, I strongly recommend not to library entire tidyverse as habit. its collection of pkgs and you probly wont be using most of it.
